[Promotion] PhantomShell update 6.8.1

I've added a few things to this update.

-Window animations

-Font selection

-Hide / Unhide apps from app drawer (typing app name in terminal and shortcuts still open it)

-Tabbed Media Control (if you have multiple media sources open it will have tabs at the top to switch between them)

-Terminal Searchbar (this has all functionality of the terminal without taking up the screen real estate)

The update is still pending review but you can check it out here Play Store 👻

[Promotion] PhantomShell Launcher

One of the main requests I get is for windowed folders. They are live now as of yesterday. The idea is for these to be more of a catch-all workspace rather than simply a place to store apps.

For example, you could create a Work folder. Inside, you could have your work contacts displayed at the top using the same quick-contact functionality that exists now. Below that, you could have the apps you use for work, followed by individual files and notes you frequently need.

Basically, everything you need for a particular task or context, all in one place.

You can give it a go here Google Play 👻

Ishikawa's Fuchikoma

So in the first episode how is his Fuchikoma in two places at the same time? In this scene he's on top the building but when he snaps out of it he's in the woods. Was the whole him shooting at everyone a simulated experience?

PhantomShell

So I’m wrapping up the launcher I’ve been working on and I thought it’s about time I shared a little about it. It’s kind of a passion project cyberpunk terminal based launcher.

Phantom Shell works kind of like having a command line for your phone. Instead of digging through menus or tapping a bunch of icons, you just type what you want to do. If you type an app’s name, it opens. If you add a search after it, it’ll search inside that app—for example, typing “YouTube GTA 6” opens YouTube with GTA 6 already searched.

It can also search Google, Amazon, Reddit, Maps, the Play Store, Instagram, and other services just by typing a command. You can call or text people, manage contacts, create folders, take notes, set reminders, timers, alarms, and even do math without opening separate apps.

The coolest part is that you can make your own commands. So if you always search Google, you could make “G” mean Google, and then typing “G weather” would instantly search Google for the weather. You can also customize buttons, folders, and shortcuts so the launcher works the way you think.

It even has system tools built in, like checking battery, RAM, storage, clipboard history, toggling the flashlight, muting your phone, managing permissions, and launching apps by package name if you’re into more advanced stuff.

Basically, it’s designed so almost everything you normally do by tapping around your phone can be done by typing a quick command instead. Once you get used to it, it’s often much faster than using a traditional home screen.

I’m currently looking for a few more beta testers so if anyone is interested message me what device you have
