How do you store your expensive cards?

I am working on master setting Pitch Black and Chaos Rising. I just got the mega darkrai SIR, and I while I want it in my binder, I don’t want it out of a rigid toploader!

I know there are toploader binders, but then I would need every card in a toploader!

Any suggestions? I might print out a high quality placeholder card for the ones I have and don’t want to put in the binder. I’m also considering getting the darkrai graded as it is in great condition and the centering is perfect.

What to do with bulk?

I’ve just gotten back into collecting (my daughter got into it a few months ago) and it scratches the dopamine itch from AuDHD!

I have a lot of pitch black bulk, some holo rares, couple of double rare.

I’d love to give these to kids that are starting a collection or are searching for cards they need. Does anyone know anywhere I can donate them?

Prismatic SPC

Did anyone have any luck today? I checked my local sports direct as the uk ones seem to have gotten some but no luck.

All the Smyths seem to have good stock of the first partner series 3, limited to 1 per person which is good!

AuDHD Burnout - Recovery

I late diagnosed this time last year with ADHD and last week got my diagnosis of high masking, high compensating, high functioning Autism.

Since going on Tyvense 40mg last year work has been so much easier, as has life! However the increased productivity in work also led to me starting to be burned out by Xmas. The 2 week break did me good, however this year has been tough. My ex’s dad dying in Jan, my ex becoming my ex, all while taking on more responsibilities and work.
It’s finally gotten too much and I’ve gotten signed off for 4 weeks. Work have been really supportive and told me to take as long as I need, that I’m valuable and they want to see me back as soon as I’m ready.

Now my question is…what do I do? I know I need rest, and reducing my stress…but I don’t want to rot in bed “resting” for 4 weeks. My plan is:

1- get out walking at least once a day for 30-45 mins
2- eat a proper healthy home cooked meal once a day
3-???
4-burnout go away?
5-back to work!

I’m going to be doing a lot of work and thinking about the triggers for what got me here regarding work, as I can control those, and if I need any adjustments in work I will ask for them -no back to back teams calls, maybe a 4 day week- and I’m working with a therapist on getting to grips with emotional regulation, RSD which is particularly bad with the recent breakup…

But I would love to know if anyone has any advice on what I can do for the next 4 weeks, possibly beyond to start recovering. I appreciate all input, except “quit your job, it’s obviously not right for you if you burned out”

Thanks in advance!

First pull heat!

One of the first 5 packs of Pokémon cards I’ve ever owned got me this!

Now my ADHD brain is chasing that same dopamine hit! I’ll probably lose interest in a few weeks and they’ll all go into a drawer somewhere, hopefully worth tens of thousands in 20 years time!

I am considering picking my favourite original Pokémon and trying to collect all versions of it…within a budget!

Am I in the wrong?/What do I need to change?

TL;DR- I’m in burnout and had an argument with my (ex) gf because she got upset that I asked her what day she was coming home. Apparently asking that means I don’t care about the effort she is putting in to come back to support me.

I (42M) at late diagnosed AuDHD and was with my now recently ex (42F) for 2 years. I got diagnosed about a year into our relationship. She has ptsd from childhood and early adulthood trauma and lost her stepfather earlier this year. I have been very supportive through this whole time and have been working through my own issues with learning to identify and live with my AuDHD and helping her to understand how my life is changing and how it may come to the surface in our relationship.

In the last 3 months or so I’ve gone into a pretty significant period of burnout and have not been myself, I’ve been more irritable, becoming overwhelmed more easily and becoming more withdrawn due to the exhaustion. I’ve communicated my feeling to her the best I could and asked for support and understanding.

One thing we discussed after an argument a few months ago was that we would check with each other before we made any plans, in case one of us had an idea of something to do together, as we only see eachother at the weekends. I had found a hotel/spa for the weekend and asked if she was free, but she had booked a weekend away to do a dance workshop, when I asked her why she didn’t discuss this like we had agreed she said she wanted to do it so booked it. This upset me as we had agreed we would discuss weekend plans together before we made them.

She has been away in Spain with her mother for a few weeks, she obviously needs support after her husband passing which I understand. I had said that I found a good deal on a local getaway, I’d take the week off work and we could enjoy some time away together, then spend the last couple of weeks before she goes back to work in September together. The first thing she asked was could I move the hotel to a different date which suited her better, I said I couldn’t as it was the only week I could take off work due to project commitments. I then asked her what she wanted to do for the rest of August as it would be the last few weeks we could spend together before it was back to seeing eachother at weekends, and her answer was that she would go back to Spain for 2 weeks after our holiday, then spend a week together before she was back to work.

I explained that I could really use the support and time together, both for myself to help with my burnout and to help us have quality time together to help get out relationship back on track after the recent arguments. She agreed and booked a flight back before our planned week away and said she would stay the rest of August.

Last week I texted her to ask what day she was coming back, I knew it was either Saturday or Sunday, but wanted to check to start making a plan in my head, I didn’t put it in my calendar when she told me, so obviously forgot! She messaged me back asking me if I was seriously asking her that, and that she told me many times and sent me a screenshot. This was in the evening, I was exhausted after work and already with zero emotional capacity. I took this as an attack on me, and couldn’t understand why she would lash out at me when she knows how exhausted I am, and over a simple question. Her response was that she was making such a big effort coming back to support me, and was looking forward to it so much that she took my question as me not caring about her coming back.

My exhaustion, and emotions took over and we ended up having another argument, I told her that she obviously doesn’t have the capacity to care about anyone but herself, and that she can’t take into account my situation before making an issue out of something I do/say and then telling me that I don’t take her feelings into account. Apparently I should have known that asking her what day she was coming home would upset her?

Should I have stopped myself reacting emotionally to the frustration I felt when she responded to me with a negative/spiked comment?

Is expecting that she should know how a comment like that would affect me too much to expect?

Am I in the wrong for asking her when she was coming back and not knowing that question might upset her?

Support for men with late diagnosis

I’m late diagnosed, last year at 41. Struggling with work finally brought me to get a diagnosis and meds have been a game changer. Work was finally not on “hard mode”! But…after working really hard, having a tough year personally I’m now suffering burnout.
Work have been great and have told me to take all the time off I need, so I’m starting with a month.

I am doing twice monthly sessions with an Autism/ADHD therapist and she’s been great. I don’t have a friend group and have no other support in my life.

We all know men are mostly terrible at asking for help, or even admitting we need support/ encouragement/ affection/ help, but I am wondering if there are any groups out there for people with Autism, ADHD, AuDHD who are struggling or just want to hang out and chat with similar people.
