I’m kinda good with wording, and you would need to get this pre-approved by your provider prior, but I felt like letting some of you guys know this.

I managed to successfully get ETC to refund my initial $500 out of pocket cost (.. well $477 but close enough) by claiming it as a work related expense.

So as we all know, your initial assessment is around $950 - $1000, and Medicare will do a rebate bringing it down to around $500 out of pocket.

Our ADHD affects our abilities to focus and maintain employment, perhaps not for every one, but a significant portion of us at least.

It took some fancy wording on my part, but I managed to successfully have $477 refunded to me by ETC, meaning my real out of pocket expense for my initial assessment was under $100.

For those already assessed I doubt they will backpay an old assessment but as mine was under 2 months, I was successful, and felt I should share it for those who may be struggling to even consider the costs it takes to get that initial appointment.

Quick back story: finally diagnosed with adult ADHD and medicated, lo and behold my undying love for gaming has returned!

And gosh it’s good to be back, sorry to the guys I gamed with last night, had no mic and the ping on euro servers was killing me 🫠

I have a few week off from work recovering from surgery, and I’ve been on a sprites mission, I’m currently at 66 sprites total, all mastered, but struggling to find any new ones

Do I just keep grinding and hope for the best ?

Also, holy hell did I get hunted across the map when I finally found a grim sprite, ended up storing it away before mastering out of fear of losing it entirely

And lastly, I’ll be headed out this morning to buy an adapter to get my head set working again for any future squads, typing mid game is hectic

Hope this falls within the rules of the sub, I’m still a bit groggy from the anaesthesia of surgery

My account has been cleaned out with a string of Australia post transactions, they started small with $13.20 transactions, and kept climbing until my account bounced from lack of funds

This is the card I have stored for my Origin internet payments, Origin claims all they got was end digits of stored cards, but it all seems a bit too convenient to me.

I already have card cancelled, bank dispute in progress, Auspost is investigating the transactions, and currently on hold to Origin as I type, so thought I would check if maybe any other customers have had auspost transactions show up on banking apps?

TLDR: origin data breach happened and now my card details have been used fraudulently, check if anyone else has copped similar

So, my doctor referred me to Dokotela for diagnosis, he can see it plainly that my adhd is present but doesn’t have the official training, can only re-script meds

So far it’s been utterly horrible, communication is subpar at best, tried to get callbacks earlier they hung up as soon as I answered twice then sent me a link to re-contact them? Say what now???

They say they don’t have my pre-assessment form, which i done immediately but when I click the link it says it’s been done and they just need my urine drug test and pulse check (pulse check is another thing that’s already been sent…)

Was told I had to pay 7 days in advance but now they have sent a payment link 2 weeks in advance, and I just have this gut feeling something is off with this group?

Anyone got some feedback with this group?

I’ve had to go off my medical cannabis to pass the urine test and I’m bouncing off the walls and wondering if it’s just my hyperactive brain panicking or is this group shady, help please 🙏

Edit: Ok, you guys have convinced me to ditch my MC, which is all that will be flagged on my drug test so that I can proceed with final diagnosis and proper medication, I’ll roast my final capsule in the mighty+ tonight and pack her away …. I can feel myself almost sweating at the thought of it… but something needs to change so, yeah — Thankyou to everyone who provided insight into the next step, I really appreciate it

45m, lifelong severe ADHD, undiagnosed but my GP can see it, my report cards show it, I have all the supporting evidence.

But right as I’m filling out the psych forms I see they will not prescribe stimulants if I am actively using medicinal cannabis…

And on top of that I’d need a full month unmedicated to pass the drug screening - the unmedicated version of me is highly erratic, with severe insomnia, even the MC doesn’t overly help at times but usually I can at least achieve a 6 - 7 hour sleep, with (fingers crossed) 1.5h + of deep sleep

Now I’m reading loads of other people who have faced same issue - I only use it of the evening and night to “power down” so to speak so it wouldn’t overlap on adhd meds?

What the way forward here, do I deal with insomnia for a month and then find a supporting GP to allow both medications?

I can’t help but be concerned that my insomnia will only be amplified by ADHD medication, but I’m sick of my life detonating from my own erratic behaviour, and I need to show my daughter there is a way forward

Any help, advice is welcomed - I feel defeated today
