Should I take JIMS CSE or float

I got BTech CSE in JIMS. Should I take it or float? My other option is NMCCE BSc. AI+DA (already enrolled)

I'm in Delhi General Category (JEE %ile 70.84, Rank 4.66L sumn)

What is the process for upgrade or floating or do I have to skip this seat and hope something better will come in round 2? I really don't know anything about the process for upgradation. Also what about spot rounds?

Should I switch to BSc. ASDA at Mithibai or stick to NM BSc. AI+DA

I just got a mail from mithibai offering me BSc. ASDA. Last date for admission is tomorrow 3 July 2026. Should I go for it or stick with NM BSc. AI+DA?

Also my parents are against me doing BSc. and want me to do Btech. I got admission into IPU rn (JIMS Btech CSE) and theyre trying to coerce me into going for that, but I'm not really sure about that at the moment.

What should I do?

any advice before I start college?

I'm in NM (BSc. AI+DA). I'm an outstation student from delhi. I'm planning to move by thie end of this weekend and start classes from next week. Any advice for me before I join?

How is the faculty for my course? How long would it take me to cover all of the missed syllabus?

What all clubs are available? Are there any fests or sumn?

Also since I missed orientation, would it be harder for me to make friends? how is the crowd? and how's the gender ratio (not for the reason you think I just dont wanna be around incels and gooners😭) ? It would help alot if I can know both about my course specifically and the entire college. I lowk don't wanna be around any incel men or femcel women or foids or chuds or just normies in general🙏 (sorry for the lingo and for being so picky)

Dilemma in choosing my course/college, please help.

TL;DR: I got into BSc (AI+Data Analytics) at NMCCE Mumbai (already paid, classes started June 15) and also have a confirmed seat in BTech CSE (Data Science) at SRM KTR (fee deadline July 6). I'm skeptical of SRM — offline exam, possible cheating among peers, and my own low JEE %ile (70.84) makes me doubt how selective it really is. I'm leaning toward NM because it's ~10-12L cheaper, has a tier-1 reputation within Mumbai University, and I got an unofficial placement data point for last year's batch (36 students, 24 eligible, 9 placed at Deloitte, 4 at EY, 11 in fintech, ~22L highest package, ~6.5-8L "median") through a personal connection at the placement cell. My family's split — I lean NM along with a few friends, but my uncle and parents worry a BSc will hurt off-campus placements and limit PG options abroad. I also have a vague backup option through IPU (Delhi quota) I haven't really looked into. Trying to decide with 5 days left on the SRM deadline and over two weeks of missed NM classes already.

I currently have 2 options; BSc. (AI+Data Analytics) from NMCCE (Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics; also known as NM) & BTech CSE (Data Science) from SRM KTR (Main Campus).

Though I have also applied in IPU for BTech from the top 10 colleges that ChatGPT gave me. (I have delhi quota; My JEE %ile is 70.84; 12th CBSE marks are 82.17% for all 6 subjects; 72.3% for PCM)

I'm honestly really confused which one should I go for. I'm honestly really skeptical about SRM as their exam is offline and cheating could've been easily done. Alot of my friends who are also getting CSE in SRM have done the same. On top of that I have a pretty low score in JEE (70.84) which further adds onto my skepticism. Everybody around me is telling that SRM is somewhat reputed and has proximity in BLR and Chennai. I feel like this "good" reputation is a facade given the basis on which they've given admissions on. Another friend of mine is saying that SRM is worse than VIT while another one is saying they're somewhat the same. The people around me who are in support of SRM are saying that I should go for it as it's a BTech degree which would mean its a safer choice than a BSc. degree as I have to comparatively make less efforts to compete than with a BSc. degree for placements. But I feel that argument is pretty much null if my gut feeling is right about SRM. My opinion is that at the end of the day, I would have to make the same amount of efforts to compete and land a decent package (around 6-8LPA) whether I do BSc. from NM or BTech from SRM.

Additionally, the placement data for SRM is pretty sketchy. It's pretty inconsistent and Claude says that their official placement statistics are just an image carousel with no real detail. On the other hand, I received realtime placement data for the last passing batch of my course from NM which is pretty consistent. My mom talked to someone over at the placement cell over the phone through a personal connection, which isn't something you can do through official means as the college website only provides you with the emails. What I've been told is that my course is basically their old course BSc. (IT) but rebranded. The course had 36 students last year, out of which 24 were eligible for placement. 9 got placed in Deloitte, 4 in EY and the rest in some Fintech companies. Deliotte took the most and around 6.5-8 LPA so I guess you can call that the median package. The highest package last year was around 22LPA. Now, considering that the college fees for the whole course is 6L and that it's a BSc. degree, this seems pretty good. And on top of that, it's considered a tier 1 college among all the colleges in Mumbai University. SRM on the other hand would cost me upto 32L (19.4L for the course, hostel fees can vary but the max it can go according to gemini is 3.15LPA hence I've done the calculation with that amount in mind) that too with mixed opinions and sketchy placement data. I know that Mumbai is a pretty expensive place to live in, but for my initial days I'm gonna be staying with my uncle until I've made a final decision as he lives there. Even if we include all living expenses, PG costs, and leisure costs like hangouts or Plane ticket costs. I dont think it's gonna go over 20-22L for the entire 4 years. I'm only gonna go back home to Delhi once per year, during the summer break if I move to Mumbai.

The only downsides with NM is that curriculum for Data Science is pretty rudimentary so I'll have to improve my skillset on my own (which I already knew, and I feel I'll have to put in the same efforts even with SRM). From what I've been told by uncle, if I don't get placed within the college, I might have a harder time finding placements due to my degree being a BSc. Degree. I don't know if that's true or not. My parents are mainly skeptical about due to this reason, and the other reason being they feel I'm limiting my options for PG with a BSc. degree as most colleges abroad dont accept the standard 3 Year BSc. degree from India and requires a 4 year degree. But from what my friends and ChatGPT told me, that problem can be solved if I do the extra 4th year and get a BSc. Hons. degree. They are also skeptical about how good is NM for BSc. as NM is mainly known for commerce, they feel BSc. from NM might not be as good as I think. I don't really know much about the options I'll have for PG, whether it be for BSc. or BTech. But From what ChatGPT has told me, I can do MSc. or MBA with BSc. and MTech or MBA with BTech. BSc. should be much more beneficial if I do MBA as I won't have a GEM background. I don't know much about MTech but my mom and a friend of mine said there's no use in doing MTech. I haven't really researched about this, whether it be MTech or MSc. so I'm trying to keep an open mind regarding the both of them. ChatGPT's overall summary was that NM is better if my end goal is higher studies. A friend of mine also told me that since NM rebranded their IT course with the 2026-27 batch, this year will have the lowest cutoff and it will only go higher with time.

The deadline for SRM fee payment is 6 July 2026. I've already paid the fees and secured admission in NM (I'm kinda cooked since the course already started on 15 June 2026 and my ass is still sitting at home ages away in Delhi😭). I would really appreciate some advice on what should I go for, also any suggestions or advice on my PG options regarding both BTech and BSc. would also be really helpful and would contribute significantly in making a decision.

(Sorry if you guys feel I'm relying on AI too much. My family members don't know much about BSc, and can only think of it in a negative way. Its the same case with most of my friends except a few, who I've been asking for help but they're also in the same position as me, just with better options. The only person I know who is more knowledgeable than my friends regarding this is my ex so I think yall can understand why. Also I would really appreciate it yall can go and upvote all my posts and comments real quick, as due to low karma I'm unable to post in certain communities like r/Btechtards )

I'm late asf in joining college? am i cooked?

I got into FYBSc. (AI+Data Analytics) into NM in the 4th merit list, but I still haven't joined yet because for one, I'm an outstation student. Two, I don't have a laptop and my parents also keep delaying that. Three, my parents keep delaying it because they want me to get into an engineering college and they keep overlooking the attendance factor. They finally agreed and I'm trying my best to move by this week. What should I do about the missed syllabus and the lost attendance? Should I give a medical or something? It would be really helpful if anyone from my batch and course, can help me regarding my missed syllabus. That and I missed orientation so its gonna be comparatively harder for me to make friends, so any company from my batch and course and college would be much appreciated.

Should I Go for NM College or R.A. Podar? (BSc. (Ai+DA/DS)

Im getting BSc. (AI+Data Analytics) in NMCCE and BSc. (AI+Data Science). I know NMCCE is a good college but the issue is that 2026-27 is the first batch of this particular course, and they discontinued BSc. (IT) this year and a final year student of NMCCE on this sub advised me to stay away from this as its a new course so its a bit risky. R.A. Podar on the other hand doesn't have as big of a name as NMCCE but has had this course for much longer now (First Batch was 2022-23).

What should I do in this situation?

Doubt regarding NM College BSc. AI+Data Analytics

I got into BSc. (AI+Data Analytics) in NM College. A family friend of ours is a professor in Mithibai and is also part of the committee that draws up the syllabus for all the courses. She advised us not to do BSc. AI+DA in NMCCE or Mithibai as they take children from all streams into this course despite it being a BSc. course. She mentioned that the first 2 years they make children do lowk nothing and maths bhi bohot hi low level hoti hai since there are children from all streams. She said this was the case for all colleges offering BSc. AI+DA (including Mithibai) and recommended us to do a BTech degree instead.

Another question I have is about the placements regarding this particular course in NMCCE. Everywhere I check, whether it be google or chatGPT it shows the placement rates, average LPA, companies that come for campus placements but it considers the ENTIRE COLLEGE. That isnt what I want to know, I just want to know the placement stats about my particular course.

Any help will be much appreciated.

No 4th Merit List or Phase 2 First Merit List for BSc. ASDA

I'm really confused why there is no 4th Merit List for BSc. ASDA. I can only find the 4th Merit Lists for BSc Psychology and Health Science. And after talking to other people, they're saying its for Phase-1 candidates (I'm Phase-2). I cannot find any 'Phase-2 First Merit List' for any course like stated on the college website.

Does it mean the 2nd phase merit lists are not out yet? Or all the seats for my desired course are full? I'm genuinely tweaking rn, one moment people on reddit feed me some
copium and the other moment my mind tells me that im cooked😭😭😭

I would appreciate some help I'm lowk losing my shit rn❤️❤️❤️

Mithibai 4th Merit List when

UPG has released their 4th Merit List and sent me an offer letter via email. NMCC have already sent me an offer letter via email. I'm just waiting for Mithibai to release their 4th Merit list as neither have I been contacted via email nor can I find the 4th merit list for BSc. Data Analytics on their site.

meri gaand phat rahi hai kya karu

im feeling anxious as fuck because if i don't get into a good college for data science, i'll be compelled to take a drop. I don't want to take a drop but I can't go to a shitty college either. My breakup in feb-march made me lose all my will to study which fucked up all my entrances, so this is my only option now. Boards theek gaye (82.17% CBSE science stream) but competitive mai maa chud gayi. Tab I didn't care about college much because I felt I need to get my shit straight and worry about my mental health first before I worry about college. I already feel so fucking lonely every night and all those thoughts eat me alive. I've been trying to divert my attention by doing things going to the gym, meeting my friends and trying new stuff. But that still won't save you from the loneliness during those sleepless nights where its just you and your thoughts all alone. No friend is available, you have nothing that you can do. you can't sleep, you don't find joy in doing anything because you feel too pissed or sad or whatever. I just want this to stop. I already cant study because of ts, whenever I tried to study my mind would just start thinking about allat shit that happened and I would be too pissed or anxious to study. I don't want to take a drop year where I feel even more lonely, and then waste it all doing this shit.

What are the best College Options within reach for me (BSc. AI+Data Science And similar courses)

I'm a PCM student from Delhi. I got 82.17% CBSE (Aggregate of All 6 Subjects). I'm aiming for BSc. AI+Data Science and courses similar to it. I have scored pretty low in maths (60/100) though I do plan to give an improvement test for it. What are the best colleges that I can get into, given my score?

I have currently applied for all SKVM colleges & RA Podar. I shall fill the forms for Jai Hind, Hinduja, Wilsons, Bhavan's and KC by tonight as these were suggested to me by people on this subreddit. Is it possible for me to get into these colleges, or any tier 1 college given my score?

I have received offer letters from 2 colleges as of now:

  1. Western College Navi Mumbai
  2. KSD's Model College
I haven't really heard anyone recommend these colleges and according to ChatGPT these are tier 2 colleges based on their Placement rate and Average LPA. I don't really have options elsewhere as I can't afford to go to a mid-low tier private or government college and all my entrance exams went shit (talking about both govt. and private whether it be for BTech or BSc.)
Any help will be much appreciated.

How do I effectively check the merit lists of all the good colleges when they release

I'm not from Mumbai, so seeing tons of colleges in the lists for all the courses I'm interested in was pretty overwhelming. So I asked chatgpt to rank all the colleges listed in the entries pertaining my courses of interest which I've applied for based on their campus placement rate and average LPA. Now the matter of concern is that I don't really know which colleges are good and which aren't, so I applied for every college (including the ones which chatgpt said had moderate/limited placements). Checking the merit lists of all these colleges individually is basically impossible. So is there a way to check it all at once, or atleast check the merit lists regarding my top 5-6 Courses? Or anything that I can do to make this process easier?

(I'm mainly interested in 'B.Sc. in AI+Data Science' and 'B.Sc. in Computer Science' and all the other courses that are synonymous with these courses).
