What is the purpose of this?!

There are two installed on my bathroom vanity above the counter and below the mirror. Google lens says they are for a shower attachment but it is installed above the sink?

Given this without a hose, which hose do I need?

I ordered the hose pictured and it is spraying water where the hose connects to the machine.

Next steps to keep the weeds at bay?

I cleared this area out by hand, was completely full of waist high weeds. Now I’m at the mulching stage but wanted to take some preventative measures before laying mulch to make sure I don’t have a ton of regrowth in the coming weeks.

The main goal is to avoid any herbicides.

I’ll be levelling out the ground a bit so the soil will be stirred up.

My research so far has me thinking I should treat with boiling water or vinegar/vinegar mixture and lay cardboard under the mulch.

Any suggestions or past experience you can share would be helpful.

Is there any hope for my peonies?

Went crazy on the waist high weeds in my new yard, chopped everything and did not realize this was a peony bush before I decimated it. Will it survive if I keep it or should I put it out of its misery??

Please help me rid my home of this infuriating button door latch

The doorknob is just for show, you yank the door to get the latch to pop into the door frame if that makes sense. I cannot figure out what this mechanism is actually called so it’s making research difficult.

Doesn’t look like the knob and latch are lined up at all, would that mean I need a whole new door or can I replace this with a traditional door knob that you twist?

The way I have to yank this door shut and push it open with my entire body weight has me not wanting a door here at all. The kicker is it’s the bathroom door so we definitely need a solution.

Any insight is appreciated.

Ballpark for cost of building a fence here?

Was thinking of hiring it out but I also have a father experienced enough to help if the savings would be worth the pain of doing manual labour together. The gap is about 6’ wide. Not looking for a gate or anything fancy, just want to match the existing fence.

I would love to get rid of the plastic piece that directs the flow and get rid of as much flagstone as possible. A river rock vibe would be nice, if a cascading moment is possible I think that would create a nicer sound. Would love to hear past experience with reshaping or guidance on how to take the first step!
