City fireworks hotline

City fireworks hotline

Half the state is on fire and I’m still hearing too many dummies lighting off fireworks during a fire ban. The hotline in the screen grab will be active through July 5th, and after that, violations of the fire plan can be reported through the JeffCom 911 app. Stay safe Golden!

Swelling/tightness after quad strength test

Currently 4.5 months post-op ACL surgery with quad graft. I saw a different PT today who wanted to test my progress with a quad strength test and said this is safe to do at my phase of recovery. Can’t remember the name of the device but basically you sit on a table with your knee at 90 degrees and try to kick as hard as you can into an ankle cuff and it measures the force. When I did this motion it was pretty uncomfortable around the bottom and inside part of my kneecap so I didn’t kick full-force. The next day I noticed a measurable increase in swelling and aching in my knee. Was he right that this was okay for me to do?

I know the leg extension machine at the gym is a big no-no due to the shearing force, but he explained that since my knee would basically not extend past 90 degrees this was different. Any other experiences with this test? Picture of the test (I pulled from Google) is attached.

Mystery tiny weevil type bug, but pantry items not affected at all

Location: Denver, CO area (6,000ft elevation)

I keep finding these guys dead on my kitchen counters. This was actually the first live one. They are about the same size as a grain of rice. Today I found one in an upstairs bathroom too, which makes me wonder if they’re attracted to the water.

All google image searches pointed me toward flour/pantry weevils but we scoured our entire food supply and found none. Please help us solve the mystery!
