Hi all!
I'm happy than ever when red panda is revealed to be returning! The model improvement is definitely fantastic!
I did find his eyes a little bit too small and iris colour a little bit too bright though. I made some small edits myself (image 1) compared to original (image 2).
Hi all happy weekend!
I am absolutely hyped for PZ2 but can't help having some small concerns after seeing how aquarium is made in the game. It looks like the way the aquarium works was built for large aquarium tanks where keepers go in and swim inside. I suppose for small aquarium (e.g. for jellyfish, clownfish, garden eel, etc.) can be exhibits. However, zoos also usually feature medium aquarium (with tank being about or lower than adult height), especially for freshwater aquarium which also usually shows parts of the river bank ecoscenary. It might be weird where keepers are not swimming/diving but walking in these tank in game, and what's worse, that PZ2 won't allow these medium aquarium?
Hi all! Love to see fellow zoo keepers to share their wildlife reserve ideas for PZ2! I'll share my idea--the Wolong Nature Reserve in Sichuan, China (it's Wednesday so this shouldn't have broke the rule?). This is the "flagship" reserve for giant panda with very successful giant panda conservation program (although the ongoing giant panda reintroduction programs mainly happening in another reserve, the Liziping Reserve).
Wolong Nature Reserve is also the home for many other endangered species, and many of them have appeared in PZ1 or confirmed to be in PZ2. To list a few: (from left to right, from top to bottom) Sichuan takin, giant panda, Chinese red panda, golden eagle, golden pheasant, Chinese Goral (seen one in Edinburgh zoo and he was gorgeous!), golden snub-nose monkey, Asian black bear, snow leopard, and clouded leopard.
I believe this would be a very good reserve to be added to the game!
As most people know now that PZ2 steam shop has edited the text from “African lion” to "lion". I hope this suggests that we are getting lions according to their latest categorisation (northern lion and southern lion) instead of the olde categorisation (west African lion, Asiatic lion, etc.), because northern lion is not only a more scientific category but also represent both lions in Africa and Asia!
Hi all! In PZ1, we are encouraged to place down trees and foliage that are native to the habitat animals (for example, to place South American tropical plants for jaguars even the zoo is in temperate Europe). Yet, realistically, this should not be encouraged--in real life, this would mean we are cutting down local trees and bushes just to plant trees and bushes that were not native to the zoo biome. I hope that in PZ2 the plants that are not "native to the animals" will not be marked as red in the animal environment welfare panel.
Hi all! I'm Chinese but I have not been living in the country for a while. My in-law traveled to China today, but she didn't listen to me to open her Airalo esim before getting on the flight, and now she's in the hotel not being able to use any apps (apart from WeChat, I installed it for them just for this situation). They are not the most technical and I'm not familiar with the esim situation now. What can they do/what can I do to help them activate/open an esim within the country now? Thanks!
I was worrying about not having East Asian theme on day one but the east Asian stone lion statue made it to PZ2 base game! Not sure if it is part of the "East" theme (Southeast Asia also has stone lions) or it is still part of the east Asian theme. I really do hope East Asian theme would have got a rework and return, gotta use them for the pandas!
Hi all! I'm saving money for a higher end gaming pc, but I don't have any idea what other parts should be and where to get the parts and who to find to build it.
Budget should cap at £3000; I'm aiming for a RTX 5070 GPU (or even 5070 ti). I play all AAA and I play high demanding building sim (e.g. Planet Zoo).
Are there stores/websites that are trustworthy enough for a great gaming pc build as I really don't have time and not handy enough to DIY? Thanks!
I'm not talking about the big ones like polar bears, meerkats, or capybaras, they almost certain will make a comeback. But my bois that are slightly less popular than the big names, I really would like to build for them again a the new game! What's your favourite DLC animals that you hope they make it back?
The graphics! It is just a huge step forward from PZ1. (Also blue wildebeests in base game hooray)
The new prop mods on Nexus look amazing but I do learn that if PZ gets an update I won't be able to open the saves where I used prop mods (or have I misunderstood?). Since we are not very likely to be getting major updates anymore should I start using these mods? (Sorry I'm very new to modding)
