What are the Lupin III's fandom inside jokes?
So you know how every fandom has these inside jokes that have become their staple? Like House MD's fandom has "it's never lupus", Ace Attorney has "almost Christmas", Undertale has "I remember you're genocides" etc.
"These jokes may be unfunny and overused, but they're OURS" type jokes.
So, my question is, what are the Lupin III's fandom inside jokes? Share your favorite (or least favorite) below!
Question about Turnabout Serenade (4-3)
I want to talk about this whole cocoon smuggling thing.
What we know about the Borginian Cocoons is that they can be used in order to produce a cure for Incuritis, but in the wrong hands they can create a very strong poison. Thus, smuggling them out of Borginia is illegal and punishable by death. The public is intentionally kept in the dark as to what these cocoons do, but everyone in the Interpol, international affairs etc. is aware of their uses.
But what I want to ask is — is the cure for Incuritis itself illegal??? As far as I know they never mention anything about it. And if it isn't, then why wouldn't Chief Justice just, you know, buy it? Why wouldn't Borginia sell the medicine? Iirc they banned cocoon smuggling only because of the poison. Why would they keep in secret the only known cure for this terrible disease? Also, travelling to and from Borginia is easy, supposedly. Why wouldn't the Chief Justice just go there with his son? Or go there to buy the medicine and come back? He should have a lot of money and be really desperate if Daryan thought that the risk of the death penalty is worth trying to smuggle.
If Chief Justice didn't know what the cocoons did, SURELY someone from all of Interpol and International Affairs would tip him off about the only known cure for a deadly illness that could cure his son, right? Daryan could even offer him information for money, which would be infinitely safer than smuggling the cocoons.
Am I missing something?? 😭 This case is frying my brain
