Some critter keeps dropping off flower petals on my doormat

The last few days I've noticed an increasing number of dead/dried flower petals sprinkled at my front door. My first thought was just debris from the flowers in our landscaping, but they don't belong to any of the flowers in my or my neighbors yards. My next thought was maybe dropped supplies from the birds nest that's in the eaves of our front patio, but it's too far away, and it's *only* flower petals. On day 1, I picked them up because there were just a few. They reappeared on day 2, and more show up every few hours.

I'm curious if this is a thing I've never heard of. I've been practicing witchcraft for a few years, but I've got nothing on mysterious plant debris scattered in front of my house.

Low barrier of entry recs?

I'm starting a local book club for weird girl books. Most book clubs in my area read romance or general litfic. Which is totally fine, they just aren't my genres and I tend to get bored quickly. I've picked weirder books when it was my turn and they usually weren't well received.

I'd love some low barrier of entry recommendations for our first meeting to attract the weird girls without scaring the weird-curious off. I'm thinking Yesteryear, since it's kinda going off right now and there's a movie adaptation in the works, but I'd love some suggestions!
