Shame on me for not doing my research previously on this airline and discovering that a cancelled flight often means im SOL and will need to book with an entire different airline. Is there anyway I can purchase insurance after the fact that will cover and reimburse me if that were to happen?

I just wanted to share that we fixed everything! It was $84 for the steering wheel shroud and wiper switch so not too bad. Once we got in there we did see that they disconnected my airbag and horn plugs. Reattached and replugged in everything and it’s all back to normal! Happy day!
I just felt like giving an update as the post received quite a bit of traction and I really appreciate everyone who offered advice, remorse, or the unfortunate shared experience.
