4xe GC issues: 68c and now engine

I recently got my GC back from the dealership after it sat in the shop for 2½ months waiting on a battery replacement because of the failed 68C recall. After finally having it back for only about a month, I was driving on the highway when the check engine light came on and the vehicle suddenly lost power. I had to have it towed back to the dealership, and now they’re telling me it needs a complete engine replacement.
This has honestly been such a nightmare. It’s a 2023 with only 12,000 miles, and it feels like it’s spent more time in the shop than in my possession this year. The dealership says they just submitted everything to PTW/warranty for approval, and now they’re waiting to hear back before they can even begin the replacement process. It’s already been there for 2 weeks.
Has anyone else gone through an engine replacement on such a new Jeep? What was your timeline like? Once approved, are we talking weeks or months?
I already dealt with Jeep Customer Care during the 68C recall process, and that experience was awful. They couldn’t expedite anything and never had any real updates whenever I called.
Any insight on what to expect from here would really be appreciated.

How did you find your rental in Carlsbad Village?

My wife and I are trying to move to Carlsbad Village and keep running into the same problem: we find a place we like, tour, apply quickly, and then hear someone else already got it.

We’ve been checking Zillow plus property management sites like Torrey Pines and Chamberlain daily. Is there something else we should be doing? Are there other sites, local Facebook groups, leasing companies, or strategies that work better in this area?

Looking for:
2 bedroom
Carlsbad Village
Budget: $3,000 - $3,800/month (based on features + square footage)

Any advice would be appreciated.
