Am I the only one who dislikes most of covers on Faouzia’s songs?
There are definitely some good covers too (I hope). They use autotune way too much, it's actually kind of sad when people get excited about it.
But probably all covers are like that*

Hey everyone,
I’m reaching out because I’m honestly terrified and exhausted. I recently went to the huisartsenpost, and they ended up giving me a referral to a nephrologist, but the appointment isn't for a full month. Some of the diagnostic tests are also scheduled for just under a month from now.
To give some context: I am not a local, I am completely on my own in this country with no family or close support network here**.** I don't have a regular GP assigned to me (it's been really difficult to find one and I don't have one), I only have one kidney, and I am currently at Stage 5 CKD (End-Stage Renal Disease). On top of that, I haven't been under medical observation for a whole year.
Maybe a one-month wait is considered normal in the Dutch system for non-emergencies, but I am terrified. I really don't want to just sit around waiting to crash and end up in the ER needing emergency dialysis, which I know can be much harder on the body.
My main question is: Is there anything I can actually do right now to speed this up, or am I just supposed to wait a month for my condition to deteriorate?
I’ve thought about going directly to the emergency room (SEH), but I have a strong feeling they’ll just turn me away since I can still walk around and don't look like an acute trauma patient.
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on how to handle this situation? What are my options here?
Please try to understand my situation before replying, I'm asking for real constructive advice.
Thanks in advance.
Hey! I’m 21 yo boy from Sliedrecht [Zuid-Holland], new to the Netherlands. Looking for someone who doesn't mind a bit of chaos and overthinking. I might be intense…😓 If your brain also jumps between random topics, ideas, and late-night thoughts at 2 AM, we'll probably get along. I'm into exploring random interests, having actual conversations instead of endless small talk, and just chilling without any pressure. I’m pretty introverted but it doesn’t look that way online. Also, I'm LGBT friendly if that matters. If that sounds like your vibe, DMs are open!
I might ask a lot of questions ‼️ I expect this to be a two-way communication!
Important: Please actually read this post before messaging me. 18-25 yo only.
To be blunt: I don't have high hopes for finding friends online, and I know this process often feels like a simulation. But given my current situation, it’s the best option I have right now to change things. So, here I am, trying one more time.
We all have hobbies and interests, they’re cool, and they make life interesting. But if that’s the only thing keeping a friendship afloat, it’s not enough for me.
To be honest, I think the modern concept of "friendship" has become incredibly diluted. It often seems to mean little more than two people tolerating each other just because they have no better options. That’s not for me. I’d rather be alone than settle for a "default" friendship built on convenience. That’s why my approach might seem a bit direct, I’m just not interested in the filler.
I’m ready to skip the social rituals that usually define the "getting to know you" phase. If you're also tired of the standard cycle of small talk and performative interactions, we might be on the same page.
Why reach out?
I’m currently navigating some health challenges, so I’m protective of my energy. I’m looking for someone grounded, who can handle silence, and values honesty over conventions.
To clarify: I’m not looking for a therapist, an audience, or someone to "fix" me. I’m looking for mutual ground. I value shared autonomy, I want to be around someone who is equally responsible for their own life and energy as I am for mine.
The entry ticket:
Let’s skip the "how are you" loops. I want to see if we think similarly.
At what point did you realize that everything depends solely on you?
If you’re someone who values depth over convenience and believes in balanced, real connection, I’m looking forward to your message.
Hi everyone,
I’m a newcomer to the Netherlands, currently based in the South Holland region. I arrived on my own as a refugee from Ukraine, and I’m looking to meet people who value depth over shallow interactions.
About me:
I’m currently going through a rough patch. Due to a medical condition, high-energy social activities are difficult for me, and dealing with social anxiety adds another layer to that. I’m honestly done with online-only friendships and endless chatting. I’m looking for something tangible and real.
My interests lie in psychology, biology and philosophy. I’ve spent way too much time being in my head, and I’m ready for a change.
What you can expect:
I’m not into gaming or debating music tastes. I prefer evening walks, spending time at the beach, or long, late-night conversations, anything that involves being present.
I don’t do social conventions, masks, forced positivity, or small talk. If something matters to me, I’m all in. I’m a problem solver by nature, so I’m always aiming to move forward.
What I’m looking for:
I’m looking for someone nearby who doesn't like to sit still, someone who stays calm in a crisis and isn't afraid of deep, honest communication. Also, if you're the kind of person whose energy is focused on the world around you, that will be a plus.
Because of my situation, I’m being very protective of my mental resources. Please reach out only if you are genuinely interested.
If you’re also just trying to navigate life and feel like being around someone who values the same kind of realness, my DMs are open.
Let's start with this question: At what point did you realize that everything depends solely on you? (Aside from circumstances beyond your control)
Let's see if we can save each other some nerves.
Have a good evening.
I’m going solo, and I would like to meet up with someone who also appreciates her incredible vocal agility
Her new album, Film Noir, is just amazing. I think she’s setting the bar high for the entire music industry. Also, her performance at the Grammy Museum must mean something..
