Pdx 2300 MkII pro renovation ( wip)
Recently purchased my dream turtable but it was in bad shape. Luckily mostly aesthetic stuff or not that hard to fix. First steps were to removed all the dirt in the many interstices and nooks. 3 feet out of 4 were broken or loose nuts inside. So opened to fix it as beat as I could. Luckily the inside was in good shape ( motor , pitch). Only the pitch fader stem was bent but I was able to carefully straighten it once unmounted. A previous owner removed all the tracking light system inside so looking for parts to solder it back ! ( I taped it down the hull as the wires were dangling)Used a lego to fill the hole in the meantime. All the black screws are oxidised or in bad shape so ordered similar ones ( hope they fit perfectly). Started sanding the side dots of the platter as they were also oxidised. Ordered some ultra fine grain paper to finish the job. Picture is the wip as of today. I also gently sanded and polished the pitch bend metal rod. Next steps are finding one or 2 feet, a silver power button ( the paint is fully gone on mine). The tracking light system. I hand painted the big scratches on the body ( white exposed ao it was very visible). A cool project for that amazing turntable ! If anybody have the parts I am looking for let me know !!
