Is Love Scout worth the watch?

I just finished Filing for Love (nothing spectacular but still a decent watch) and I need another office romance/romcom drama to watch. I've been putting off watching Love Scout for a while now as I couldn't get past its first 15 minutes. However, I've been reading a lot of good reviews about it and I actually appreciate dramas which are slowburn, have adults acting as adults, and have well-written characters.

What are the strengths and weaknesses of this drama for those who have watched it?

Anyone here watching See You at Work Tomorrow who has also seen Because This Is My First Life?

I’m lowkey getting Sehee × Jiho vibes from Siwoo and Jiyoon.

Sehee is very logical and rational. He chose Jiho as his roommate because she met all of his standards. If I remember correctly, he also had a good impression of her because she was a considerate roommate: she kept the place clean and even fed Woori, his cat.

Siwoo gives me a similar feeling. He's been pretty vocal about liking Jiyoon—not in a romantic sense (at least for now)—but in how much he wants her as an employee and wants her on his team.

Both male leads are initially misunderstood as “cold,” but they’re really just no-nonsense people. Their reserved personalities never come across as asshole-ish. They’re both consistently respectful toward the female leads.

Jiho and Jiyoon also remind me of each other. They’re both unintentionally funny because of the way they think, and we get so many of their internal monologues. They’re just trying to navigate work and life despite how difficult things get, but they keep pushing forward and somehow continue to thrive. They also know how to stand up for themselves in their own ways. They have a clear sense of what they want, what they deserve, and what they’re willing to tolerate. They may not have the strongest aura in the room, but they’re firm in their own convictions, and I really like that about both characters.

I also love how both pairs are built on mutual respect. Their relationships don’t rely on grand gestures or instant chemistry. They slowly develop because they genuinely appreciate and understand each other.

I actually had some doubts about See You at Work Tomorrow after the first two episodes, but Episode 4 sold me. I think the marketing makes it seem like a rom-com, but to me it’s much more of a slice-of-life romance drama. That slower, grounded approach is probably another reason it reminds me of Because This Is My First Life.

Not sure if na-scam ako

Haaaay

Anybody here still enjoys watching "mid" dramas?

Those dramas that started off really strong and promising, but somewhere along the way completely lost the plot or drifted away from what made them interesting in the first place.

You know the type: the first few episodes hook you in, then suddenly all sorts of random things start happening, the story goes off the rails, and the original premise gets buried under unnecessary subplots.

And yet… you still somehow finish them.

Maybe they’re still funny, maybe the leads are great actors, or maybe the chemistry is so good that it carries the entire show. Despite the messy writing, they’re still enjoyable enough to watch until the end. I tend to experience this a lot with romcoms.

Some examples for me:

  • Frankly Speaking
  • Dynamite Kiss
  • The Potato Lab
  • Doctor Slump
  • One More Happy Ending
  • Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
  • The Time We Were Not in Love
  • Cunning Single Lady
  • Emergency Couple
  • Love Rain
  • My Princess
  • Personal Taste
  • Fantasy Couple

Dramas like "In Your Radiant Season"

Please recommend dramas that are healing, character-driven, well-written, and possibly slow-burn, preferably without overly dramatic "big bad" moments. I’m okay with both lighter and more melancholic stories. :)

Recently, In Your Radiant Season was such a cathartic watch for me. It made me cry, but it also felt like a warm hug. I loved how the emotions felt quiet and grounded rather than forced. The characters were genuinely likable and the couples’ arcs felt thoughtfully written.

I tend to enjoy dramas that focus more on people and relationships than on heavy plot twists or external conflicts. I like character growth, nuanced relationships, emotional intimacy, everyday moments, and stories that feel comforting or quietly devastating in a human way. I don't mind slow pacing as long as it feels intentional and the characters are compelling enough to keep me invested.

Here are some dramas I’ve watched that might help:

LIGHTER SIDE (Mostly slice-of-life with lighter tones. They can get emotional at times but aren’t too melodramatic.)

LOVED

  • Because This Is My First Life – loved the mature themes, dialogue, and relationship dynamics. well-written light slice-of-life.
  • Still 17 – warm, comforting, and surprisingly emotional. loved the metaphors just as with in your radiant season (same writer).
  • Be Melodramatic – loved the friendships and natural conversations.
  • Go Back Couple – made me laugh and cry equally.
  • Doctor Slump – comforting and easy to connect with. watched this when i was also in a slump.
  • Fight for My Way – loved watching ordinary people trying to figure life out.

LIKED BUT LOST MOMENTUM

  • Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha – liked the warmth and community aspect.
  • Reply 1988 – loved the family/friend dynamics but paused midway.
  • Castaway Diva – just lost the right mood to continue it.
  • Can This Love Be Translated? – feast to the eyes and has good premise.

SOMBER SIDE (More melancholic, atmospheric, calming, and emotionally reflective. These stayed with me long after watching.)

LOVED

  • You and Everything Else – loved the emotional weight, rawness, and atmosphere.
  • Our Unwritten Seoul – felt intimate and emotionally grounded.
  • Summer Strike – peaceful and healing while still carrying loneliness.
  • Do You Like Brahms? – loved the quietness and emotional restraint.
  • A Piece of Your Mind – calm and introspective.
  • In Your Radiant Season – cathartic and warm at the same time.
  • When Life Gives You Tangerines – what an ensemble. loved the storytelling on top of everything.
  • First Love (Japanese Drama) – nostalgic and emotionally immersive.
  • Unrequited Love 2019 (Chinese Drama) – yearning written in its rawest form.

LIKED BUT LOST MOMENTUM

  • My Mister – appreciated the atmosphere and writing, it was just too heavy for me during that time.
  • My Liberation Notes – liked the quiet and reflective tone.
  • Come and Hug Me – just lost the right mood to continue.

PLANNING TO WATCH

  • We Are All Trying Here
  • Azure Spring

If you've loved anything from my on-hold or planning list, please convince me to continue/watch them too hehe 😭
