The deltamate arrived and wow just wow this block looks heavenly.
My take on the icemancooler since there appears to be little to no information on it.
Testing was done on 3x 360mm radiators w/ single d5.
Flow rate bounced between 3.6l/min-4.25l/min.
Fan speed set to 30-45%
Ambient temp: 18.33c.
17-18c delta at 640 watts sustained over 30 min. Temp peaked at 49c, avg was 48c-50c(stable per pin monitoring from cablemods rt basics 4x8pin to 12vhpwr)
15c delta at 600 sustained over 30 min, Temp peaked at 48c. Avg was 46c-48c.
Memory temp peaks at 50c, avg was 48c.
1c delta at idle
My thoughts on it:
The block performs well but looks/feels cheaply made. It is nice that there is a cutout for accessibility on the bios switch. There is only 4 sets of ports for inlets and outlets. It is also made of glass instead of acrylic/other. It was very simple to put together, it comes supplied with thermal pads but I opted out of using them and decided to use Halnziye Hy2610 thermal putty instead. I applied Halnziye Hy-P17 thermal grease for the core as well. The block is great but the price tag is something I don’t think can be justified considering you can other well-performing block such as the Deltamate.
The only comparison I could make was between this block and the Bykski 5090 Astral block. The comparison isn’t even close! The bykski block I would not recommend whatsoever due to the performance that is left on the table. The Bykski had a delta of 26c at 640 watts, 22c delta at 600 watts, memory peaked at 60c, and 5c delta at idle.
Conclusion:
The block performs pretty well aside from feeling/looking cheaply made. It has some benefits others don’t have and I would recommend it if you can find it cheaper than $370. The deltamate arrives in the mail soon so I will have that to compare to as well in the near future.
This is an icemancooler block for the 5090 astral . I see little to no pics or posts about this particular block so I help this helps somebody.
I’ve stumbled upon a Colorful 630 watt 4090 bios and after testing the galax, asus, and colorful; I’d rank the Asus first, Colorful second, and Galax third.
I got it set up and made some tweaks. Flow rate is sitting at 4.46l/min. I’m aware black qdc’s have some flaws which is why I set them up as fill ports. I need to finish bleeding and do some cable management then it’s off for the races.
Is there anymore optimal way to set this up? Waterblocks are not connected yet. Feel free to make any suggestions
Whether you’re overclocking your 5090 to 1600 watts or running a shunt modded 5080, 5070 ti, or just using your card to solely game… the best cable I have come across for load distribution and least amount of vdroop has been cablemods cables. I specifically run the RT basics for my setup. It seems the mass of 12vhpwr is junk except for this brand of cables. I will note however; after about 3-5x plugging it in you start to lose your load balance and vdroop will start becoming higher and higher. I can comfortably run 640 watts max continuously through this cable and not bat an eye. Other brand of cables are good but then they degrade after a few weeks. I currently run the RT(Seasonic) Basics 4x 8pin - 12vhpwr. I’m constantly messing with my pc so I’ve bought a few of them to keep around. If you want ease of mind when running your hardware; I highly recommend this brand of cables.
