I recently started talking to a guy who I met through mutual friends. Right from the beginning he’d mention how much of a hard worker he is, how he is hustling, how he’s a go-getter and I took that with a pinch of salt.

But he just doesn’t drop that. He keeps on somehow bringing it like if I ask him “what plans for Sunday?” He’ll just go on a 15 minute rant about how he doesn’t get to be free, how he’s working, how he’s occupied. If I’m like “I’m binge watching a show” he’d respond “I wish I could. See I’m building this project so I have to put in so many late nights to earn this…” blah blah. Even something as casual as me being like “why are you up early?” turns into a rant about how he should fly to this city, then to that remote town, then somewhere else, how he’s restless, how he has the busiest schedule known to mankind. This happens every single time because he somehow wants to keep reiterating he’s so busy and keeps saying “nothing comes easy for me, I chase my dreams”

I’m not even texting or talking to him myself. He himself reaches out to me. Double texts if I don’t reply as well. So today I was like “bro I know you work hard and you’re the face of hustle culture but give it a break, stop talking about it so much na” and he was like “ouch, I’m just sharing stuff about my life and how it is, idk why you feel that way” and it turned into a rant…

Idk I’m thinking of just not engaging with him anymore but was it rude of me to tell him to not talk about it?

My bestfriend is dating a guy anamata. This is her first relationship ever.

There’s an app called Raya which I’m sure you guys have heard of and he’s a member of it. He uses it often and he matches with girls but bio lo he put the feature “just for friends” ani

So he was telling her he only uses to find friends locally and to network blah blah ani. Kani he’s still swiping right on the person and matching with them to talk to them though? Like why would a guy in a relationship and has plenty of friends even need to do it right?

Kani just for the benefit of doubt I’m asking here - is it normal for a guy to do this? Or is he doing it to find someone else?

I’ve had the same bestfriend since the 6th grade and we’re in our early 20s now.

We’ve both always been single but I’ve made peace with the fact that when a guy has to come, he’ll come but with her, she’s actively complaining about not having a bf, how her younger sister is set to be engaged so she feels even more weird, how she’s so lonely etc

So I told her go get on dating apps because clearly nothing else was working for.

For 2 whole weeks, I had to give her pep talk to even get on the apps because she was worried about a gazzilion reasons including how someone from her society might find her, how she could be judged… i had to sit with her and motivate her to live her life and not care.

Then she finally made an account. She’s been constantly contacting me about it ever since. I get a call at 9 AM like “should I tell him my actual college’s name because what if he stalks me and ruins my life?” and that goes on for 30 minutes. Then she sends screenshots of conversation with every guy and is like what do I say? Calls me when I’m in the middle of my internship to ask is it okay I let this pick me up from my hostel? Should I do this / do that? And I’ve to talk to her for hours about it

It got so exhausting for me and perhaps for the first time, I left her on delivered and watched the phone right without answering… it’s been 2 days but idk if I’m being the kamina? Because girls do share a lot of things with each other and ignoring a close friend is bad
