Is the VCU hardware updated?
Hi, I've seen photos inside the Gen1 VCU and they were using quite cheap chinese chips and SD cards, these are well known for backdoor access.

Do you know if they have upgraded the hardware?
Also do you know why they were using 2x 32GB SD-cards?
Help with spatial linkage
Hi, I don't have experience with linkages, even less with spatial linkages, hence my request for help.
The orange piece I'm showing is a leg in it's folded and extended positions. The green sphere in the back is a pivot point (it doesn't need to exist, but I've used it to rotate the leg to help with visualization).
The system is manually operated by human hand, it should go up and down easily by hand. The legs need to be flat due to interferance with other components.
How would you go about designing a linkage that ensure the start and end positions are what I need?
10 days at end-aug/beg-sep
My girlfriend and I are doing backpacking-style trip to Sicily, flying in and out of Trapani with a rental car the whole time. We like a mix of history/culture + beach + genuinely local food — we'd rather eat where locals eat than sit in a tourist-trap piazza.
Here's the plan (full loop around the island):
- N1 – Trapani (just a crash night, land at 00:30)
- N2 – San Vito Lo Capo (beach, Erice on the way)
- N3–4 – Palermo (markets, Monreale, Mondello)
- N5 – Agrigento (Scala dei Turchi + Valle dei Templi at sunset)
- N6–7 – Ortigia/Siracusa (base for Noto, Ragusa, Modica + Vendicari beach)
- N8 – Catania (Etna day + street food)
- N9 – drive back west to Marsala (salt pans + wine)
- Last day – ferry to Favignana, then evening flight out of Trapani
My main worry is the Catania → Marsala drive on the second-to-last day (~3.5h). Also wondering if we're trying to see too much and should cut something to slow down.
Is this a sensible route, or would you reorder/drop anything? Any must-eat spots or beaches we're missing? Thanks!
Alfa Romeo Mito direção assistida - Usar part number diferente do original
Obrigado.
Use EPS 50526335 instead of 50518131
Hello,
My Power Steering is dead, it's original part number is 50518131.
I've found in the second hand market a part number with code 50526335 and according to the FIAT ePER it seems that this is the latest replacement of my original part.
Will it work if I install the 50526335 on my vehicle?
I've checked the relationship between the part numbers here https://www.pekidi.com/navi?KEY=STARTUP
Thanks
Move wheels up and down independently and together for a box
Hello guys,
I'm building a container that has 3 pairs of wheels. The front (left most on the picture), the middle ones and the rear ones (fixed in height).
I need a system manually operated by one person that is able to move the front and middle pairs independently, but is also able to move the 2 pairs at the same time (when I need the load platform to move up and down. The front pair needs to move independent from the middle pair to help to pull the box from the shelf, it will sit on the front and rear wheels at this point and then after pulling a bit more to the outside the middle wheels can also drop. Once the front and middle wheels are on the floor, the load platform can also go down.
When the container goes back into the shelf, the load platform needs to go up first, then the middle wheels go up and then the front wheels go up as the platform is pushed into the shelf.
I thought of two winches, but then how would they actuate together when the platform needs to go up and down? I also thought about similar system of semi-trailer landing gear with interconnect shafts and a 3 position diff in the middle. I'm struggling to find a good approach that's not over engineered and not heavy.
Some more information:
- load platform will range between 20 and 100kg.
- stroke of the wheels is 700mm.
- the container footprint is apprx 750x600mm.
- i want the lightest possible system.
What interface for sliding up and down aluminum tubes?
Hi there,
I'm designing a cage to go in and out of a truck, what i'm showing is one of the corners which consists of two concentrics aluminum tubes. The bottom tube will hold wheels and it goes up and down inside the bigger tube.
I would like minimal slack between the two tubes. What interface material/system would you suggest?
I thought about self lubricating plastic installed on the inner tube. This plastic would interface directly with the internal face of the outer tube.
I thought as well of bearings installed on the inner tube with some sort of spring that would be always pushing the bearings against the internal face of the outer tube.
Some context:
- bigger tube height - 1500mm
- outter tube square size - 60mm
- inner tube square size - to be decided depending on the interface material/system
- tubes thickness - 1.5mm
Setup Claude Cowork for two co-founders
Hello,
I'm starting a startup with my co-founder to develop an app. I've been using Claude Cowork successfully on my own, but in this startup it would make sense that both of our Claude Cowork instances use the same information from a shared folder.
We are not planning on using Claude to write code for now. We are going to use either Lovable or Google AI Studio to build our MVP. The purpose of Cowork for now, it's for us to organize better our work, to make use of Skills... basically we want to make Cowork our personal assistant that organizes the information regarding competitors, market research, marketing strategy, GTM strategy, pricing, etc.
Here is what I'm thinking to setup Cowork:
- Co-founder X creates a project in Cowork and sets the default project folder in a OneDrive folder.
- Share this OneDrive folder with edit permissions with Co-founder Y.
- Co-founder Y creates a project in Cowork with the same name as Co-founder X and selects the previously shared folder as the default project folder.
- Define a set of rules in both co-founders cowork projects memory.
I have two main questions:
- Does it make sense the flow I'm thinking?
- What set of rules you suggest to be shared?
Alfa Romeo Mito 2009 - Steering Issue
Hi everyone,
I have a 2009 1.4TB and recently it came my turn to have the well known EPS issue. The EPS loses power and steering becomes really heavy.
I've read the DTCs and this is what I got (see image). My question is if from these fault codes I can identify if the issue is on the power steering module or on the steering angle sensor?
Errors:
C0051-86
C0074-29
C1002-17
Side note: I've first checked the battery condition and changed for a new one recently, so certainly it's not a battery issue.
