First Time Visitor

Hello,

I posted this in r/askDFW but it turns out my hotel is in Allen! I'll be in town this coming Sunday-Friday for work and am hoping to find non-tourist-trap places, events, restaurants, etc.

I'm open to anything but enjoy history, music, fitness, architecture, hockey, and lacrosse. I'd appreciate any suggestions on things to help me get to know the area, thanks!

I'll be in Dallas starting early Sunday 5/17 until early afternoon Friday 5/22 and I'm looking for suggestions on things to do. Monday through Thursday I'll be working so the biggest amount of exploring time I'll have will be Sunday. I hope to see a glimpse of the real Dallas, not tourist traps and chain restaurants.

I have interests in history, music, fitness, big on hockey and lacrosse, but want to take in as much as I can of not so typical spots/areas. I'm traveling in from PA and have been to Texas many times, just not yet this part of your great state!

Thanks for any feedback!
