To double buggy or not to double buggy?

Hi mammies and daddies!

Due our second next May and starting to think about what we’ll need to pull together especially with Black Friday etc coming up. I’m wondering about double buggies and if they’re worth it. My son will be 2 1/2 nearly to the day when baby arrives and currently loves his buggy. Ironic when he literally wouldn’t go into it when he was small 😅

I’m conscious of trying to wrangle two kids and also don’t want him feeling that a baby booted him out of his buggy when they arrive. At the moment I don’t think he’d be great on a buggy board but obviously it’s a ways away until they arrive so he could be a different kid by then.

I was looking at the Bugaboo donkey thinking at least I can use it as a single if we don’t need the double, and sell our current travel system (Mamas and Papas Ocarro).

Would love any thoughts or suggestions, I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the moving pieces here!

Edit: wow lads wasn’t expecting so many responses thank you! I’ve read them all but won’t be able to respond to everything (1st trimester kicking my butt lol), but seems the general consensus is it depends on our family and to buy secondhand 🤣 I’ve set up a few adverts alerts now so may hang on and see closer to the time how much my son still loves his “bram”! Thanks a million all, what a great resource this page is.

Winnie the Pooh SOS

Has anyone had any recent experience catching Winnie the Pooh in the parks? My nearly two year old has been asking non stop to hug winnie and I’ve just seen reports he’s not around atm?!

If I ask a cast member will they tell me when/if he’s scheduled? Going later this week!

ELI5 - semi private care

Hello! TTC baby #2 at the moment and hoping to go semi-private. I went public on my last baby due to a reasonably complex medical history, and then had an absolutely disastrous birth resulting in an emergency CS, and resultant postpartum PTSD. I was managed by maternal foetal medicine for my whole pregnancy and mostly saw a consultant.

By some miracle though I ended up admitted to the Lillie Suite in the Rotunda after my first birth and I was really grateful. I have decided that if I’m more likely to have another section this time I want to try get a semi private room again to make the few days in hospital more comfortable, I found it so hard last time and will likely have less of my husband this time round as he manages my toddler. Still hoping for a VBAC but just in case!

Anyway, to get to the point I have a few questions I cant find answers to online I hope someone could answer - feel like an eejit ringing if I’m not even pregnant yet lol.

- When do you pay the fee? 12 week visit? Before? Can you do a payment plan?
- Can you pick your consultant or do you get who you’re assigned?
- Has anyone been semi private with a medical history and how was it managed? I got a lot of extra care last time - tbh only for the likelihood of a longer stay I’d probably just go public again

Thanks ladies - what a great resource this page is!

No response from Vinted support?

Hi guys

I’ve sold a fair bit on Vinted and never had a problem until this one item. I sold it on 17.05, posted on 22.05 and it arrived at the pickup point on 27.05. I messaged the buyer on 16.06 to check all was okay and got no response. It’s odd and I hope all is alright with them.

However, the item is still at the pickup point over a month later. It’s not been returned which Vinted keeps telling me it will be. I’ve messaged Vinted support now last Sunday and still have no response, tried to report the case again on Thursday and got told to wait for them to respond to the first case which apparently I’ll get within 48 hours lol

It’s been a week now since I contacted support and a month since the parcel arrived. It’s not a lot of money but it is annoying? Wondering if anyone has experiences similar!

Gifts for crèche workers?

Hi lads, my little fella is being moved to the next room in his crèche next week and his teacher has been amazing to date. He only started in February and it’s our first so wondering what the etiquette is here - is it weird to get a present for his key worker and then maybe chocolates or something for the room?

Or even if anyone has experiences in terms of policies on this, I work in the HSE and anything over €20 has to be reported etc and is genuinely more hassle than it’s worth so I don’t want to make work for her!
