What have you sold that you thought would never sell?

Every seller has one! That item you listed 'just to see' because surely nobody would want it. And then it sells within the hour. Meanwhile the good stuff the stuff you were sure would fly is still sat there three weeks later with 14 views and a growing sense of betrayal. What's the item you were convinced would never sell? And what's still waiting for its buyer?

Courier bags - Dublin

Hi folks

Any idea where to buy some courier bags in person in Dublin today - just to send dresses so don't want them to be big & the post office sells those massive 6euro prepaid ones.

Have a pack arriving from amazon tonight, but one person would like their item posted today if possible so trying to buy one and get it sent today.

Edit : thanks everyone I got sorted in the post office today as a once off - and I got a pack for good value of Amazon arriving which will be super handy to have at home. Was a tenner for like 5 or something!

Thanks 🙏🙏

Shipping price bug?

Is anyone else having this issue? Shipping shows as €2.59 to post office and €3.59 to home but then down further it’s €3.09 to post office (and still €3.59 to home) - am I supposed to do something to get the €2.59 option? I was getting €2.59 to post office and €4.29 to home for a while, but it then went back to €3.09. I’m assuming it’s another bug tbh, but just wanting to know if anyone else has it too.

Update: thanks for the quick replies! I see now that it’s the drop2shop price but it wasn’t coming up for me because there are no D2S locations near me 🥲

"New with tags" jeans covered in hair

Just bought these great boohooman jeans for a fiver. They still had the tag on but when they arrived smelled funky and were BEYOND covered in what I guess is cat hair? Im not talking a few hairs I mean absolute hundreds even inside. Honestly a fiver tbh i wasnt expecting much but still. Should I just leave a 5 star and move on or talk to the buyer? I love the jeans tho😭

Am I getting away with this "small" package with An Post?

Laptop for scale!

It's not heavy, it just contains a pair of boots - I just can't find a smaller box anywhere 😭 Chose "small" for package size and it's too late to change it. Am I gonna get laughed out of the post office for trying to claim this is a small parcel? 😅 Thanks!

Do I admit defeat?

So, around three weeks ago, I posted a hardback book that was in perfect condition. I wrapped it in bubble wrap, put it in a padded envelope, and added tissue paper for extra protection. When the buyer collected it, she raised an issue with Vinted saying the book had arrived damaged.
I saw the photos myself, and there was some damage to the spine, although it was fairly minor and only slightly noticeable. Vinted suspended the order and said they would investigate the issue within 48 hours.
The book itself wasn’t particularly valuable, but I decided to leave it up to Vinted to resolve because I didn’t want to just lose the money. I know that’s probably a bit stubborn on my part, and realistically, I can afford to lose the tenner.

But do I just set aside my pride and refund the buyer and let her keep the book?

Is this happening to anyone else

I was uploading a few items and now I can’t access anything in the app? Not sure if it’s a glitch or something on my side

Returned item waiting to be collected

Item I returned was delivered to click and collect location on the 11th August (a post office). It has not yet been collected. Vinted have not indicated how many days they get to collect. What normally happens here? Thanks.

Wife keeps getting ‘inpost via Vinted’ mails for another user

My wife has a Vinted account she doesn’t use, but received these ‘inpost via Vinted’ messages for another user, and they’re a serious user as she receives multiple a day, 8 today alone.

In the ‘to’ field the user has a similar name to my wife. If my wife’s user name is [firstname][lastname] the ‘to’ field in these mails say to: [firstname]A[lastname].

The user is also UK based as we can see their address in these mails.

We’ve tried contacting Vinted support but they either say they can’t help with queries about another users account, or think we’re trying to report unwanted emails, no one is taking the time to understand the issue.

We’ve also tried emailing [firstname]A[lastname]@gmail.com to get them to fix it but they’re ignoring us.

Any suggestions?

EDIT as explained below, these are not a scam for a bunch of reasons, key being there’s nothing to click in the emails, but my wife just told me she gets another type of ‘forwarded via Vinted’ email which is a drop off confirmation from another service called Ervi.

Both inpost and Ervi seem to be legit businesses with highly rated apps, but that the mails are ‘forwarded via Vinted’ we think Vinted are the place we have to fix things

Anyone know why this is happening?

Is anyone else’s vinted majorly bugging?

I made a sale and I can’t click into it, I can’t view offers, I can’t like items, I can’t view my sales/orders. Is anyone else having trouble? I looked for app updates but my app is up to date

First time being scammed after 160+ 5 star reviews *UPDATE*

I took the advice from the comments and tried to be stern, I wasn’t getting much reply and decided to do what a few other comments said by making him return (and pay for postage).

Now he’s saying if I leave him a 5 star review he’ll accept the order.

Am I allowed to tell him I’ll leave a 5 star review, and then leave him a 1 star review?

Not listing fabric/yarn

Anyone else really annoyed when sellers don't state the fabric/yarn (e.g.cotton) that the item of clothing is made from .I'm avoiding polyester/viscose etc and looking for natural fabrics. It's really infuriating!

Is anybody else annoyed by really lowball offers?

I have bundle discounts available on my shop, someone made a bundle of 3 items that would’ve been €23 total (a skirt €18, pair of earrings €2 and another bundle of earrings €3) so they got a discount automatically down to €20.70.

They then made an offer of €13 for all three of the items, a whole tenner off, I counter offered with €20 and told them I wouldn’t sell for less than the value of the skirt.

I’m just wondering is it reasonable to be pissed off over this kind of behaviour, I get it people are trying to get a bargain but to try get a bundle of items for less than the cost of just one of them seems a bit cheeky to me

New to Vinted and suspicious of the mailing system.

I have sold three pieces of clothing today but the shipping label is not a common shipper. It’s called SpeedX and I have no clue where to drop it off. The location it showed on the app is a vape shop and I’m not sure that’s legitimate. Anyone else encounter this shipper?

Downfall of Vinted ??

Has anyone else noticed the decline of the app since it’s gotten more popular? When it first became available in Ireland it was just regular sellers just clearing out their wardrobes and I feel like it was quite easy to find bargains and also trust that listings were genuine. Now the amount of ai I’m seeing used in listings is concerning and lowkey should be banned anyways cause how is it an accurate picture of the condition of the product if it’s ai enhanced ? Also the amounnttt of accounts of shein outfits only worn once (mostly concert/ festival outfits some people will sell the entire thing boots and accessories included). I get that these are mostly teenage girls who are doing the cycle of buy cheap shein outfit-wear once-gain money back by selling it-buy another cheap shein outfit and they can avoid the horror of outfit repeating. Not trying to shame them we all know the pressures of staying on top of trends at that age but the speed that trends change at these days is insane and my main point is that this practice is just completely opposite of the whole slow fashion concept behind these platforms. I know you can filter out shein as a brand but that doesn’t mean people aren’t just still listing it as “cute top” instead. I got a pair of pants recently listed as reclaimed vintage that were actually musera (ie shein)! Weird behaviour when it’s so clearly written on the tags.
