Why is Valve ignoring the wishlist?

I appreciate Valve doing something against scalpers, but why have people join another reservetion list? People have wishlisted the controller, machine and frame right after it became possible to do so. Why not start offering the devices to people who already have it on their wishlist? Also they have the dates, when it was added to the wishlist.

c-zigbuild: Utilize the Zig Build System for C

I created a build.zig to use the Zig build system to compile c source files. I had it on my drive for quite some time, rediscovered it, updated it to Zig 0.16 and publish it now.

It supports all fancy Zig features for C files:

  • out of the box cross-compiling for different architectures and operating systems
  • adding dependencies using Zig
  • testing using *_test.c files

It can create binaries, static and shared libraries or all of them together.

It is more flashed out then typically "this is how you compile c with Zig" tutorials, but there is surely more that could be added and extended.

Anyway I hope that some may find this useful (:

Just did a fresh install and decided to go with Niri! I have some questions where I got stuck:

  1. Is it possible to have a close button (e.g. in the Active Window Widget or next to it) without enabling window decorations? I want to be able to point people, who use my machine and have no idea what's going, to something they can click on to close an app.
  2. Is there a widget or button I missed to enable/disable dark mode without going to color scheme settings?
  3. I like my desktop icons and I would like to have this workspace back. I do understand that Niri is not a DE, but I also don't need a full Desktop. If I had an app that opens the contents of a folder, has a setting for background transparency and displays nothing else (no navigation, etc.) that be great. Does something like that exist?
  4. Is there a way to have floating windows centered instead of pixel offsets?
  5. Is there a way to have floating windows with relative instead of pixel offsets?
  6. Is there a way to have dialog/settings/etc., i.e. all windows that an app opens, that is not a full window, but some kind of menu but as a new window opened floating?
  7. Is there a way to have a shortcut on Mod (without any second key)? I would like to bind the launcher to this key. Again, people press the Windows key and expect they find apps.

Sorry for the long list, thanks for your support and kudos to the Niri and Noctalia folks!
