[Maps Bug] Can't load Reveals because of "Ratings" cookie.

When attempting to open the Art for a Shambling Mound to show to my players, I got a failed request:

Why is this still a problem. I keep deleting my "Ratings" cookie, but it keeps being replaced and it alone is more than 2k.

This is now stopping me from using Reveals during games.

[Maps Bug] Zooming a map fades it out to grey

I started prepping for my game today and the map is broken. I use a standard grid to align the projector, and I kept losing the lines. When I tried it on the DM screen it made (completely broken) sense.

Anything beyond 50% is invisible.

This is completely unusable for in-person play or large maps, and completely pointless for anything else.

I can't use the Maps VTT today, and if this remains, I never will be able to again.

[Maps] D&D Beyond VTT Ideas

A number of small ideas and tweaks for the Maps VTT, in no particular order.

Spell Slots

When a creature has spell slots for Spellcasting, or a limited number of uses of something per day, provide a way to define this on the creature, and allow us to track those cast spells in simple checkboxes like a character.

This would likely require changes to the Monster elements to allow designation of 'charges' of spells and actions, and how to group spells together with the same set of charges, but the "Spellcasting" part of a Monster needs work on input, anyway.

Support for Summoned Creatures

Support for summoned creatures like Spiritual Weapon, or Steel Defender. The biggest part is the ability to create tokens for summoned creatures whose stats depend on a given character, for things like spell saves and attack roll bonuses, which is a needed thing regardless

Another one of the big things, is tying them to a character for "Acts after the character in the initiative order". Right now, they regularly act before if their 'controller' in the order if you place it equal, and there isn't always space after the controller to place them before other creatures.

Highlight Dead and Bloodied.

Highlight bloodied creatures with a partial red box like the Encounter Builder. Bloodied is a relevant condition now, (even though it wasn't on the conditions preview) and it's important for the DM to know which creatures are bloodied or not. Additionally be able to toggle showing this to the players (some DMs don't like to convey it mechanically). Bonus points if you can add a red teardrop to the token on the map to show that it's bloodied as well.

Highlight dead creatures with a Skull on the token, and grey them out or cross-hatch them in the combat tracker, so that the DM can see at a glance in a list of creatures which are still alive.

Add New Token Hidden

Add new tokens already hidden, once Combat has been started or the scene has been displayed to players. Right now, they appear mid fight with their creature name, before I can rename or hide them, so I have to keep cutting off the display for players, which both tells them I'm changing something, and interrupts what they were doing.

Remove Creatures from Combat Tracker through Token

Provide a way to remove a creature from the Combat Tracker through their token menu. If there are 10 goblins on the map and in the Combat Tracker, and I want to remove a specific one, I have to remove them all then add back 9 or just guess and hope. The "Add" button greys out, just allow it to be clicked again to remove them, with a confirmation.

Open Character Sheet or Statblock while Grouped

From the token menu, provide the ability to open the chararacter sheet or stat block of a token while it's grouped. If a Fire Elemental is grouped with their Aura region, you have to ungroup them to interact with the token for the Fire Elemental. In the new menus, it could be a dropdown listing of each major token in a group with their direct menu, when you click on the "3 tokens selected" bit. Bonus points for allowing that menu to ungroup a single token from the group without disbanding the whole thing.

Expand the Combat Tracker to Full Width

Allow the DM to expand the Combat Tracker to full screen, and have a separate panel for statblocks. The old Encounter Builder allows you to see the initative list and roll on a statblock at the same time. There's more than enough space, and it would satisfy those of us who use the Combat Tracker 'without' the Map, as a replacement for the Encounter Builder.

Favourite Reveals

Provide the ability to Favourite Reveals to prepare for a session. The list is huge for many of us, so I have to write down on a notepad or piece of paper where to find the reveals I've selected for my session, then click through the menus to find them when required. A star/favourite menu would make that much easier.

Search All Maps

The new Map Browser is great, but it lacks the ability to search across all categories at once. If I'm looking for a Tavern or a Ship to drop into my game, and I'm not running a specific campaign, I have to click through each category and type into the search bar again to search each category. It's tedious and unnecessary.

Show CR on the Token Browser

If I'm searching for a quick monster of a reasonable level for an encounter, I have to open each statblock one after another to see what the CR of the monster is. I don't really need to see the monster's Saving Throws or Ability Bonuses on that screen, but the CR is far more important at that moment.

Move Creatures on a Grid

The ruler is great for those who want the "true wargaming" experience, but the vast majority of tables play by grid squares. You know where those grid squares are, because you asked for them when adding the map. So have a toggle to turn on "Snap to Grid", which will keep the tokens on the relevant points on the map.

Then we can have the ability to move creatures and players showing movement in squares, including diagonals, and multiple direction changes. Bonus points for tracking how much movement the creature has used prior to their next turn.

Ability to Change Initative Mid-Combat

This is another of the "We could do it with the Encounter Builder" ones, but there's no way to adjust a creature's initiative once combat starts, without removing it from the battle and re-adding it, which is super clunky.

[Bug] Critical Hit Damage cannot be cleared.

Our table uses Perkin's Crit. i.e. If you crit and your normal damage is 1d6+3, then you're Crit Damage is 1d6+6+3.

On D&D Beyond, when you roll a 20 on a weapon attack, it automatically applies "Double Roll Damage". However, with the new menu, where you can select Crit or Flat Roll, I would expect to be able to clear this crit before rolling, because I don't want to use it.

However, in this situation, opening the menu shows as Flat Roll, while the Character Sheet box is clearly Crit. Switching to Crit and back again doesn't change the situation. The box shows 2d8+2, not 1d8+2. The menu shows 1d8+2, and changes if you manually adjust etc.

But when you roll, it always rolls the double dice crit damage.

You cannot clear the crit damage even if you want to. Changing the selector has no effect. Adjusting the die type works, but if I adjust the die count, it doubles that adjusted value, so changing it to 3d8 will roll 6d8.

Expectation:

When I crit, and open the menu, it shows Crit Damage selected, and changing that to Flat Roll will ... only do a flat roll.

Content Management Bugged?

Today during a Session 0 with some new players, I enabled Content Sharing on the Campaign, but disabled all books except for:

  • Players Handbook 5.5
  • Heroes of Faerun
  • Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide

However, when they opened the Shared+Owned tab, they had 87 titles, and only 6 in the Owned.

Notes:

  • They only own the Free content, and a 2014 PHB.
  • All items in the Shared+Owned are completely accessible to them.
  • Disabling Content Management removes their access.
  • Re-Enableing the Content Management and blocking all books, they regained all access again to all books.

I know that they get access to all the options, but they SHOULD NOT be able to read all the Adventures books when that content is "Blocked".

I set up my second test account (unsubscribed with nothing but free items) and a test campaign and I can completely reproduce the issue, so it's not just this one account or one campaign (unless I'm the bug).

Is anyone else seeing this issue?
