18 carat gold pendant but not sure what the stone is - some sort of shell?
The pendant is about 3.5cm high. Abalone shell? I don't know if it's valuable or not but inherited it with matching earrings from my grandmother.

I was gifted this ring about 30 years ago by my mother who bought it in S. Africa I think. 🤔
Google says it's an elephant hair ring. I'm not sure what the hallmarks are but it's definitely gold. And the stone - an emerald I think.
But I can't find out how much it's worth - can anyone advise?
I took this to the local auction as it's not quite my style (inherited from my grandmother). I know it's European and 18ct gold and Lapis Lazuli but not much else. Auction valued it at £1500 -£2500 but it's heavy and the scrap price would be higher according to bullion vault. The auction also sells at the lower valuation reserve so it surprised me that they would value it less than scrap. Has anyone got any opinions on this piece? I have also a matching ring.
I can't find out anything about how much it's worth. It was a gift and I can't decide if I like it or not. Chain is marked but can't make the mark out at all.
