The assets of President Marcos and his wife Liza were valued at P1.475 billion in 2025, according to an appraisal report attached to his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) in 2025, a copy of which was obtained by The STAR from the Office of the Ombudsman.  

In the report by independent firm Cuervo Appraisers Inc., the first couple’s real properties had a total fair market value of P1.029 billion, covering 20 properties, including three houses and 17 lots, varying from agricultural, residential and commercial.

An elderly man lining up for the P20-per-kilo subsidized rice outside the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) in Quezon City died while another was injured after a pickup truck struck them at dawn yesterday, according to the Department of Agriculture. The DA said the 73-year-old man, who was seated while waiting in line at around 3:45 a.m., succumbed to severe injuries before reaching the hospital.

A sidewalk vendor was injured and is now undergoing treatment, the DA said.

BREAKING: Law enforcement agencies like the police and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) can “effect the arrest” of Sen. Ronald dela Rosa based on a “valid” and “enforceable” warrant from the International Criminal Court, Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida announced.

The chief of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has tagged Sen. Robin Padilla and Senate sergeant-at-arms Mao Aplasca as “persons of interest” in the disappearance of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.

British lawyer Peter Haynes, the new lead defense counsel of former president Rodrigo Duterte, is hitting the ground running with a move to revisit the issue of the former chief executive’s fitness to stand trial before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Haynes filed his first submission on the case on May 15, ahead of the first status conference set by the Trial Chamber III later this month.

BREAKING: The International Criminal Court (ICC) confirms the arrest warrant issued against Sen. Ronald dela Rosa.

“The International Criminal Court confirms that the document published by national authorities of the Republic of the Philippines and circulated in media is indeed a formal ICC document. This arrest warrant against Mr. Ronald Marapon Dela Rosa was issued confidentially, under seal, by Pre-Trial Chamber I of the ICC on 6 November 2025,” the ICC said.

“The ICC is currently in the process of unsealing the warrant of arrest,” it added.

Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV earlier released a copy of the 16-page document signed by judges composing the ICC Pre-Trial Chamber I.

Trillanes, in a message to The Philippine STAR, said the arrest warrant was communicated “through proper channels.” He did not elaborate.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Raquel Fortun on Thursday called out people on social media naming those killed in gunfire as "corned beef," saying that they "don't look anything like corned beef."

The Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 81 junks the petition of Atty. Mans Carpio, husband of Vice President Sara Duterte, seeking to halt the impeachment proceedings against Duterte.

According to the court, the judiciary cannot interfere with the constitutional impeachment powers of the House.

The court also rejected Carpio’s request for a writ of preliminary injunction against House Speaker Bojie Dy, House Committee on Justice chairperson Gerville Luistro, and Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Charlito Mendoza.
