Always been a heavy runner and a heavy drinker. Ran my first sober race this weekend and cannot believe how much better I felt!

Always been a heavy runner and a heavy drinker. Ran my first sober race this weekend and cannot believe how much better I felt!

I thought I’d hit the peak of what I was capable of with running, distance and speed wise. But if I’ve learned anything in the past month, it’s that the daily drinking was holding me back this whole time. Really excited to keep pushing the running envelope with a sober body and mind.

I was always proud of my “work hard play harder” mindset, but that led me to a place of doing intense training runs while hungover, skipping workouts for the bar, and not seeing finish lines so much as I saw the free beers just beyond the finish. Turns out your body becomes really happy when you’re not drinking the equivalent of a six pack every day. I would’ve never guessed 😂

Any Tartan Army footsoldiers in Boston that need to borrow a kilt?

TLDR: I’m a local guy in Boston with a size 32/34 kilt that someone can borrow for tomorrow’s festivities.

Hello Scottish friends! Boston guy here. I read the rules and I don’t think this isn’t allowed, so let’s get to it.

Last week, one of you lads posted in my darling city’s subreddit r/Boston searching for a local they could borrow a kilt off of. Well, I’m a local with a kilt and happily let him use it. Seemed like it was real meaningful to y’all to be able to rep the full tartan army uniform.

Anyway, with Scotland v. Morocco coming up tomorrow, I thought I may put the offer out there. If one of you fine folk wants to borrow a kilt in Boston, size 32/34, give me a shout. Picture of kilt included! Mine is the one on the right.

Go Tartan Army! You guys have brought the electric factory to Boston 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 seriously, we’re having a ball. Nobody here ever cared about non-American football, but with the Scottish invasion we’re all Scotland fans now.
