Old-Schooler Looking for a NEW Desktop Listening Rig

Been at this hobby since the '60s and grown with the various Sony, JRC, Icom, Drakes during the pulchritude of new competitive offerings! Seeking a new desk-top with modern technology so caps, etc. aren't a worry.....could the very latest be actually better? Or, are the properties of SW mostly so well-known and the state of the hobby so limiting in terms of interest/spend that TECSUN S-2200x is the only answer?

Is Drive Connect Worth It?

'26 GH Platinum AWD

Using Android Auto to test it out and compare against the native vehicle system. So far, it seems clunky just as with an earlier Ford vehicle.

Anyone able to comment on Drive Connect?

'26 GH Hybrid...Loving It! How to protect the painted part of the door sills?

At purchase, did not notice that the 4 door sills are not completely protected by the factory mats. What is the best solution to prevent scratches and chips but without incurring rust?

Sad Day.....I Surrendered And Have Left The Fold....

'23 ST: tossed the 6th shop ticket into the glove box and took a pause. Reached back in and grabbed them all...shows a few thousand dollars to fix rattles, chassis bolts that are dropping out, shields making noise only at certain speeds, and still has a shock leaking for another $1K to replace. And will take another $1K+ to fix the intermittent rattle in the sunroof. And no diagnosis yet on the hard shift btw 2/3 and a stutter in the right rear wheel when changing to Drive. And why a whoosh-whoosh noise is made when backing up. Enough of this.

Fought it out for 6 months. Traded it this afternoon. Best wishes to you all that stick with it.....I loved this vehicle and did all I could reasonably keep going.

Thanks to you all for answering and advice.

TSA Save

My loyal Pioneer that was supposedly in checked luggage somehow wound up clattering into the plastic TSA bin when I emptied pockets. 5 ft from the agent.

No attempt at concealment, so down the belt and into the machine it went with other items. On the other side, I was out-sorted.....darn it! Agent asked to check my carry-on - a can of shaving cream was tossed into the plastic container. Remaining contents of the bin were passed back. I FedEx'ed the Pioneer back home....no 2nd chance to lose it!

Reporting this as a caution; will ALWAYS think of the moment that knife hit the bin. Probably will save future losses from carelessness when visiting TSA.

To be clear, I greatly appreciate and support all aspects of TSA.....and have lost a couple of knives over the years, and liquids when over the right size. Fair is fair. And they have an impossible role.
