rent paid but no money for food.

i’m 22 F living alone and supporting myself. I don’t have any contact with my toxic family, times are tough and things are expensive. I successfully got a second job which i’m really grateful for so that i don’t have to struggle so much but my first paycheck from this job is next week. Rent was due yesterday and i have 10$ left which i must use for bus fare to get to work (i live far from where i work and walking isn’t an option). I have pasta and tomato sauce that will last me until maybe this weekend but after that nothing. what unhinged things can i do to keep myself alive until next week besides staying hydrated?

Short on rent and considering easy financial

I’m 22 and live alone - my apartment is actually very affordable and I make enough to afford it but due to some unfortunate emergencies I had to spend my entire pay check while also being in the hospital i also missed a few shifts at work.. anyways I was given the end of this month to pay my rent for august and despite picking up extra shifts i’m still short several hundred - untimely that means i also won’t have enough for September’s rent since my next pay check will be mid September. I can’t rely on any family to borrow from as I moved out originally to escape my abusive home and went no contact, they don’t know where I live. My credit is not good because I had to rely on it when I left home so I don’t qualify for any loans besides easy financial. I am very desperate, I can’t loose my apartment it’s the only sense of peace i’ve had.

My question is what can I do to make sure nothing goes wrong? I haven’t seen the best threads about easy financial. The loan i’m hoping to take out is around 1500-2000$.

Provience: Nova Scotia

Any advice is appreciated.

what should i add to this basic closet to optimize space?

it’s quite a deep closet and has A LOT of height on top of that shelf it’s a high ceiling. theres also this nook in the corner that i thought i could add a shelf too for either undergarments or to hang my tote bags?? any suggestions would be helpful. I can’t remove this shelf because im renting and it can be removed without damaging the wall - but i can add more shelves/drill into the wall no problem!

being an interpreter as a career

Hi there! I’m a 22F from canada. i’m currently taking a year off after having a really hard time in university, from experiencing family problems and autistic burnout. I’m finally doing much better however, as my year off is ending i’m realizing that I don’t really want to go back to my old degree (bachelor of biology). I really do love science as a subject, but I can’t really see myself working in any science related field as of recently.. it’s just not for me.

During my career crisis I realized that I never considered ASL interpreter as a career choice. I’ve always been in love with ASL especially as a quieter autistic person who has noise sensitivity, that being said I am still a social person who loves to engage with others. I learned ASL in high school so I’m no stranger to it, however, I definitely wouldn’t consider myself fluent (maybe a level 2?).

Anyways I come here to ask what your life is like being an ASL interpreter, especially if you live in Canada have you had a hard time finding work? what’s your income like? Are you able to live comfortably? I’m chasing the numbers I just want a simple life and if I need to pickup a side hustle to do that I would be glad.

To those living in Canada - im from nova scotia and considering taking the ASL interpreters program at NSCC in Nova Scotia which is a two year program to become an interpreter, is anyone is familiar with it!

Im a 21F university student. I finally did it, i’m out of my abusive household for good but I spent all the little money I had saved up for the security deposit and first months rent. The only things I have with me are a mattress on the floor and a blanket and pillow but i’ve never been more at peace in my entire life. Not having to be afraid in my own home is something I never thought i’d achieve.

I don’t get paid for 10 days and I don’t have a single dollar to my name after all the moving fees. I have a job it just doesn’t pay much but i usually can get by - the moving fees just ate up all the money I would’ve used for food. what can i do?

I don’t have any friends or family that I talk to now that i’m moved out. Im really afraid but I know I made the right choice even if it means starving.

Any help on what I can do would be appreciated.

I’m not asking anyone for money or cash - i simply just need some advice on where to go to be able to eat for the next few days.

mold? mildew? dirt??

Building manager said he’s not sure but it easily wipes away with a cloth so im not sure. Does this seem extremely hazardous or since it wipes away and not staining it’s not too severe?

Im just moving in here so i dont know what causes this, we did check the exhaust fan tho and its really blocked with dust so that can’t be good.

I’m moving into a new apartment soon (Halifax). I noticed the ceiling has some discolouration and it looks like either mold staining or mold on the popcorn ceiling in the bathroom. I asked the supper about it and he said there was a leak that the previous ted ant mentioned and the other supper apparently fixed it but “never finished the job”. I don’t know what that means but i’m going to assume this problem was not fixed. I’m afraid of moving into a mold infested bathroom. What do I do? He doesn’t seem keen on fixing it because he previously mentioned painting over it but that’s terrifying to me i’m a bit of a germaphobe. Do i have the rights to ask them to fix the ceiling and not paint it over?? What exactly do I say to him? Considering he can’t personally fix it do I ask they bring in mold removal contractor? I really need some advice here this is my first apartment and i’m moving in alone with no support.

my question is I assume if it was from a leak it’s 100% not surface level and it’s growing on the other side of the popcorn ceiling right? this is an older apartment built in the 80s.
