So we've had an issue with the squirrels stealing our mini pumpkins at the patch this year. I'd be super open to anyone that knows who we might combat them. Maybe putting out some other food for them?
Full disclosure: I'm with Rockbridge Church, which hosts this. Sharing because it's a free community event and a lot of neighbors have asked when it opens.
The 10th annual pumpkin patch at 2001 W New Hope Dr is open now through Oct 31 (Sun–Fri 11am–7pm, Sat 9am–7pm). It's free to walk around, with shady oaks and photo spots. Good for family pictures, even if you don't pick out a pumpkin.
Free things for kids and families:
* Saturday "Craft"ernoons, 1–3pm: kids' crafts and pumpkin painting, no purchase needed
* Fall Fest & Market, Sat Oct 24, 10am–2pm: games, bounce house, local vendors
Proceeds from pumpkin sales fund Rockbridge's community service work in Cedar Park and Leander. We're a welcoming and inclusive church, and everyone is welcome at the patch. No strings attached.
It's the 4th Thursday of the month tomorrow so it is time for us to pass out free groceries again. Things are getting expensive so come get fresh fruit, vegetables, breads and eggs tomorrow (9/24) from 5-7pm at 2001 West New Hope Drive. There is no income qualifications and no restrictions on who can get food. Even if you have a job and are struggling come get some. If you're reading this and thinking you should but you just don't know, the answer is yes. With how much food costs right now we need to be helping each other as much as possible. Come get some help with food.
Also, if you want to be part of the solution and help volunteer yourself, we always take new people helping. Setup starts at 4:30pm and take down starts at 7:00pm. We always need people to help with the food pass out during. Just comment or shoot me a DM if you need any info.

EDIT: WE MOVED INSIDE THE BUILDING DUE TO RAIN We're doing our monthly food distribution for the Leander/ Cedar Park area this Thursday (8/27) from 5-7pm at 2001 West New Hope Drive, Cedar Park, Texas. Like normal, there is no income verification, and you don't have to live nearby. Just show up and get food. We do ask for the number of people in your home and your zip just for grant reporting purposes. It's tough out there so share this with people in need or come yourself, even if you are employed.
If you want to help, setup starts at 4:30pm. We also need to people to help with the distribution from 5-7pm and we can always use a few hands to break down at 7pm. No special skills required. If you have any questions, feel free to DM me.
I work at a local church in the cedar park/ leander area and want to put together an exercise that helps some of our older folks understand the economic struggles of middle-aged and younger families. What would be some things you think I should highlight? What are some unique struggles that help older folks realize its not just avocado toast and starbucks impacting families?
Looking to replace my wife's leased 2024 kia niro ev with a used 2022 ID4. The dealer doesn't seem super knowledgeable about ev's and sent us a pic of the range and charge to show battery health. It has an estimated range of 189miles at 89% state of charge.
