Am I right when saying there needs to be further instructions on how to join these two parts or is this for an advanced crocheter that fills in missing parts of instructions based on their previous knowledge?

The previous owner had some other attachments attached to the chair which is why the arm is out so far.
The right arm is roughly an inch from being closed and I'd really love to adjust it asap.

I took my girl to the vet today for a check up ans to get Gabapentin for her echo in a few weeks and the vet, while not a cardiologist, says that she wss previously a level 3 last may and the vet says she would probably place her on a 4 now.
I'm not looking for medical advise, just curious about how long your babies lived after stage 4. Did it change stages each year or did it slow down? Just lived insight would be appreciated.
