Supermarkets, what time to look?

One thing I've always been confused by is what time I should be looking in supermarkets?

Tesco opens at 6am here, and I think used to stock behind the CS/cigs counter a when it was open at 8am but now toys are under the Entertainer so I assume they'll only be on the shelves at store opening?

Asda is 24 hours, shelves are labelled but always empty when I've been, do they stock at anytime of the day? Would they still have stuff behind the counter if they stock on the shelf?

I have the other supermarkets a drive away, so same questions really.

It baffles me when I hear about queues, how do people know what time and where to find anything? I haven't seen cards in my locals for at least 2 years!

Any help?

Stop posting books in carrier bags 😭

I've ordered a few books recently and all but one came just thrown in a carrier bag with the handles tied together

Not wrapped and taped, no protection, just thrown in a bag like it's fresh from the shop and handles tied like a bag of dog shit... One book completely mangled, the others all bent

I don't understand how people think that's acceptable? Do they think I'm picking it up from the same InPost lockers they put it in? Like it's not about to be thrown in multiple bags and shipped across the country via lots of depots and machines??

It's driving me insaaaaane I'm all for reusing packaging but it needs some kind of protection even if it's just being wrapped tightly in more bags lol
