Hey everyone! With summer coming up, I’m gearing up for camping season and need some advice on roof storage.
I’ll be packing my car with myself, my boyfriend, our dog, and a lot of gear—tent, blankets, food, fishing stuff, plus two inflatable paddle boards (they pack down into backpacks).
I really like the look of roof baskets/cages, but I’m not sure if they’re actually the most practical. I’m also considering a cargo box, but I’ve heard mixed things about space.
For those of you who camp/travel a lot:
Would you recommend a cargo box or a basket?
Do cargo boxes feel small once you actually start packing them?
What do you typically store in yours?
Any specific brands or setups you swear by?
Appreciate any real-world advice before I commit—trying to avoid buying the wrong setup 😅
