Anyone in the fraser valley (bc) interested in some perennial trades?

I have so many overgrown perennials this year! Just wondering if some people would be interested in meeting up and exchanging things?

Maybe we could plan a day where everyone brings some things we do swaps? Most of my stuff haven't even died down at all yet, I imagine most of the valley is similar, so we have a bit of time to plan?

What's your fave local bug fact?

I have a little farm stand and I do like a chicken of the Week thing and people always stop to read it even if they dont buy anything.

Since I have an audience, I feel like general knowledge of insects is super lacking and I want to help educate people even in a small way.

So tell me your fave bug facts! Maybe include a picture if youre okay with me using it as a print-out.

Im in BC just outside of Vancouver, but happy to tell people about anything in the PNW.

Docks on the fraser?

Just wondering if anyone here has or knows anyone who has a dock on the river? We had a massive tree branch come down on our walkway today (ivy was killing the tree but no one would listen to me). So its probably act of nature or god or whatever they call it for insurance. But the tree is on township property and was an obvious hazard.

Anyone have any advice?

Edit: sorry for the confusing phrasing! The walkway of our dock was totally ripped in half by a large tree branch that came down yesterday.

To the cyclist :

Im not even mad! Im just so curious how you ended up on this weird dead-ish end road and why you needed a table cloth at 4am to keep warm. Wherever you are I hope you're good! I will add your note to the envelope of interesting notes I keep from my farm stand. Best of luck!

Hi! Does anyone keep bees?

Im asking for my sister. They have a weird shaped property beside a creek so they cant have livestock, but its a lot of space and they want to do something productive with it. So they are wondering about bees and the rules around them, and people's experiences about it.

Ive also suggested mushroom logs because yum! Lol

Other suggestions welcome!

So I got some zombies.

I got 4. 3 are roos. Im wondering what will happen if I breed a zombie roo back to ayam cemanis and, just for fun, crevacours.

Just looking to connect with other zombie chicken people to talk about it!

Tiny Rob Zombie started crowing at like 8 weeks lol

OMFG ANTS!!

Does anyone else feel like the regular black ants are fucking INSANE this year? Seems like every single area of my yard has ants. Move a pot, theres a hill. Pull some weeds, theres a hill. Prune a tree, ants on my head. And they bite now!

We've always had some ants here and there but holy crap they are everywhere!

Edit: im on a hobby farm by the river
