songs that capture the grind of physical work without romanticizing it

spent twelve hours on my feet today moving patients between beds and chairs and back again. came home too tired to hold my guitar properly. got to thinking how few songs actually capture what repetitive physical labor feels like. the boredom mixed with having to stay alert. your mind drifts off but your body stays stuck in the same motions. most working class songs either make the work sound noble or turn it into some kind of noble suffering, and neither matches what my shifts actually feel like. looking for songs about service work, healthcare, any kind of body work where the exhaustion comes through without the singer making themselves the center of it. my partner does office work and we joke that our tiredness doesn’t even belong to the same species, but neither of us can think of songs that actually describe either kind. what have you heard that gets at the actual feel of doing paid physical work, not some idea of it.

how do you rebuild trust in money decisions together after a bad one

my partner and i are trying to figure out steady ways to grow what we have without getting pulled into hype again. we both work long hours, live rural, and recently realized how much catching up we have to do. every time we open a finance app or look at charts i feel that same pull from a couple years ago when we lost a chunk on something we didn't fully understand. now we're just trying to stick with the boring stuff: index funds, auto deposits, small consistent moves that don't require watching every day. it feels slow but safer.

the tricky part is staying on the same page when one of us starts second guessing. how do you two handle the quiet doubt that creeps in after a setback, especially when you're both exhausted from work and still want the same future? we aren't looking for hot tips, just how you keep the conversations steady instead of letting money become the thing you avoid talking about.
