Rewatching st season one and thinking about how mad I’d be if I was eleven

she wasn’t mad enough like imagine I go through hell to escape a lab and I want to rest but I end up with a bunch of little boys that want to go right BACK to the lab and now I gotta save some other little boy that I dont know or else they’d probably call the cops on me since they’ve already seen me like I’d be soo pissed, I would just want to eat eggos and sleep why I gotta save the world now 😔😔 ofc it makes sense considering the trauma she went through at the lab but that’s just if it was me

Rengokus use of internal dialogue

I’m not sure if anyone spoke about this perk of rengoku but it’s the reason why I love him so much, he’s genuinely an amazing character and I’m really happy to finally notice something about him and write my own interpretation about it.

I noticed his use of internal dialogue during mugen train when the fight with akaza started. One thing I noticed is that his inner monologue is mostly reserved for analyzing the situation, everything else (his beliefs, emotions, and convictions) is spoken aloud because the person he is inside is exactly who he is outside. You know I like to believe he stares ahead when talking to people because he isn’t consumed by unresolved questions about himself. His convictions were already settled through his mother’s teachings and the way he chose to respond to his father’s rejection, so now his focus stays on what’s in front of him and the duty he decided to devote his life to.

I’m not good with words, but I want to be able to put this into the best way possible because gotouge is an amazing mangaka and he deserves my best effort like not even exaggerating I love demon slayer with all my heart. It took me a good while to put everything I interpreted into words so I’m sorry if I repeat myself.

Rengokus personality is incredibly consistent compared to other characters like Tanjiro and Giyu, whose internal monologues are often filled with fear, doubt, or emotional conflict. When fighting akaza rengokus internal dialogue isn’t spent wrestling with fear, doubt, or his own emotions, It’s mostly tactical. When fighting, rengokus mind is quiet of conflicted emotions that usually you would start hearing if a slayer like tanjiro or mitsuri were fighting instead(which is also fine). Thanks to his mother’s teachings, and the way he chose to respond to his father’s rejection, we get to see rengoku after he’s already decided what kind of person he wants to be. His convictions are settled, so his thoughts aren’t spent questioning himself, they’re focused on the people in front of him and the duty he’s chosen to fulfill. He’s a very strong willed guy wait I think the word is emotionally steady, he doesn’t let his emotions shake his conviction. Yes that’s better

Addition to his father, remgoku accepted the pain of his father’s rejection instead of allowing it to define him. He decided what kind of person he wanted to become, chose not to let his father’s bitterness shape him, and dedicated himself to the duty his mother entrusted to him. He still wanted his father’s approval, but he had already made peace with the possibility that he might never receive it :(

AND LETS TALK ABOUT HIS MOTHER RUKA

It’s very much thanks to rukas teaching that "those who are born strong have a duty to protect the weak," to rengoku as a kid, and he just took that as his duty and never wavered on her belief. Her words became remgokus moral compass and gave him clarity. That’s why his mind is so quiet compared to other characters

god I can talk about this forever he’s genuinely an amazing character and I just love the feeling of the realization I’m having right now because when watching mugen train, I always found the silence from rengoku puzzling, I would think “I feel like he’s supposed to be saying something”, until I actually started thinking about it i realized that the silence IS THE POINT, It’s who he is being put on full display, we aren’t meant to hear a hidden version of rengoku because there isn’t a hidden version of him for us to uncover! His convictions, emotions, and beliefs have already been vocalized through his actions and words!! Like when he tells akaza that he hates him twice or saying mitsuris uniform is too revealing lol unlike tanjiro who kept that thought about mitsuris uniform to himself ( WHICH IS ALSO FINE IM JUST MAKING A COMPARISON WITH HOW gotouge writes inner monologue )

My eyes hurt (I started writing this at 1am.. it’s 4AM NOW) but I hope yall enjoyed my interpretation, this took a while. and a lot of time on my schools recommended synonym website so don’t come for my grammar 🤺

The teenager yearns to be single

You can’t tell me every single time the sisters did an activity that Eli couldn’t participate in that she wasn’t thinking how fun she would’ve had if she was single. Especially in that magic Mike one or the club one which I couldn’t include, you know she wanted to have fun. And I wonder if she feels trapped or if she feels Noah is already too deep into their YouTube career that she can’t do anything about it but man, I know if she was single she would be having the most fun for sure 😭
