Bali Beyond the Usual
what’s one place, cafe, experience, viewpoint, beach or random little spot that genuinely surprised you and ended up being one of your favourite parts of the trip?

Looking for a really nice villa for a few nights and trying to avoid choosing purely based on Instagram photos.
I've come across Hanging Gardens and The Kayon Jungle Resort, but I'd love to hear from people who've actually stayed there. Are they worth the price, or is there another luxury villa or resort you'd choose instead?
Main priorities are privacy, good views, service and the overall relaxing experience.
For me, it’s walking around without really having a plan.
I used to think every hour of a trip needed to be planned. Now some of my favourite travel memories have come from randomly walking somewhere, stopping for coffee or like finding a place to eat or just sitting somewhere and watching people.
Curious what everyone else discovered they actually enjoy doing while travelling. Looking forward to more substantive ideas.
Every destination has things that look amazing online but feel completely different in person. What was yours in Bali? Could be good or bad. I'm visiting Bali in 2 weeks so there are some genuine questions I had to ask, but this was the top priority. I've heard a lot of amazing things but I don't know how much to believe...
I ended up with one extra free day in my Bali itinerary and can't decide how to spend it.
I'm staying in Ubud and I've narrowed it down to either:
ATV ride or a full-day trip to Nusa Penida.
I enjoy adventure but I also love scenic landscapes and nature. Every photo and video I've seen of Nusa Penida looks absolutely stunning, which is making this decision even harder....
If you've done both, which one was the bigger experience? If you could only pick one, which would you choose and why?
Also, is the Nusa Penida day trip worth the early start and ferry or would you save that for a longer Bali trip and enjoy the ATV instead?
Would love some honest opinions from people who've actually experienced both!
Started the day at Burj Khalifa and the morning views definitely didn't disappoint.
What caught me by surprise, though was paying with the same UPI app I use for chai and groceries back home. Never thought I'd be standing at the world's tallest building scanning a QR code like it was any regular day.
Man... UPI has come a long way.
Been seeing quite a few Schengen visa refusals lately, and most of them weren't because people were ineligible.
Common mistakes I noticed:
Depositing a large sum just before applying.
Applying through the wrong embassy.
Travel insurance not covering the full trip.
Sponsor letter in the wrong format or missing documents.
Funny how the smallest paperwork mistakes can ruin an entire Europe trip. Anyone else noticed other common reasons?
