Flying into Aruba July 5th. Will Airport be busy!?!

I am considering purchasing the VIP package for Aruba airport. I will be traveling with my significant other, our toddler and 7 year old. I am worried the airport might be packed and. I’ve read the airport can be particularly busy on Sunday’s and with it being the day after 4th of July and people taking vacation, I am assuming it will be busier than usual. Hopefully someone can assist. Thanks

How does this itinerary look and does it work with the rush of Golden Week?

Hi, my bf and I will be travelling from Toronto to Beijing and ending our trip in Hong Kong. I asked ChatGPT to help create an itinerary with all the destinations I would like to visit to compare with my bf’s list of where he would like to visit. I’m quite concerned about travelling from Wuhan to Chengdu and then to Chongqing during Golden Week.

Here is the itinerary, nothing is set in stone yet.

NORTH CHINA
| Beijing | Sept 22 – Sept 27 |
| Xi’an | Sept 27 – Sept 29 |
| Wuhan | Sept 29 – Oct 1 |

WEST CHINA + YUNNAN
| Chengdu | Oct 1 – Oct 4 |
| Chongqing | Oct 4 – Oct 7 |
| Dali | Oct 7 – Oct 10 |
| Kunming | Oct 10 – Oct 13 |

HUNAN REGION
| Zhangjiajie | Oct 13 – Oct 17 | ~ possible day trip to Enshi
| Furong Ancient Town | Oct 17 – Oct 20 |
| Fenghuang | Oct 20 – Oct 23 |
| Changsha | Oct 23 – Oct 26 |

EAST CHINA
| Shanghai | Oct 26 – Oct 31 | ~ possible day trips to Suzhou & Hangzhou

SOUTH CHINA
| Guangzhou | Oct 31 – Nov 3 |
| Shenzhen | Nov 3 – Nov 6 |

FINAL STOP
| Hong Kong | Nov 6 – Nov 11 | ~ possible day trip Macau

EDIT ~~~~

What would y’all recommend skipping out on in this itinerary, what are your opinions?

Traveling with your girlfriend 24M and 23F

Quick question. My girlfriend and I have been together for almost 8 months, and we’re going on a 5-day trip together. She’s a student, and I’ve been working for about a year now, but I’m still in an internship program, so I don’t earn that much. I also live alone, so a big part of my salary goes towards rent.

She comes from a different financial background than I do. Her parents pay for pretty much everything, and whenever they go on holiday, they stay in really nice hotels.

I booked the flights and the hotel, and I also planned the trip because she was busy with exams and didn’t really have the time.

The thing is, I haven’t asked her to pay me back yet. My idea was always that we’d split the flights, hotel, and bigger activities, while I’d pay for things like restaurants and smaller expenses. But I feel a bit awkward bringing it up.

What’s considered normal in a relationship when it comes to paying for trips? A friend of mine and his girlfriend use Splitwise whenever they travel so everything stays fair, but I’m not sure if that’s something I’d want to do. Any advice?

PS: Just to clarify, she already knew the price of the hotels and flight tickets and had said she would also contribute, but I haven’t asked her to transfer the money yet.
This post was mainly to understand what is normally expected to be split when travelling together, not about the timing.

Free Instant VISA checker for the country you want to travel to!

Hello everyone, I am currently working on a personal project using AI and have built a MVP that gives an instant result for the VISA requirement between the two countries. I recently went through a VISA process and the information on the web is a bit scattered and everything points to official government sites or pdfs. The website is entirely free, stores no data and requires no login.

Problem Statement: There is currently no direct and easy way to know my exact visa requirement for the destination country that I am planning to travel to. I have to scrounge through net, recent news, ask people who have been in the same situation.

Solution: Live Link: https://caniflythere.com

The website gets the current visa requirements between your home country and your destination country. It is connected to a free public repository that syncs daily to ensure data accuracy.

I am looking for some feedback on the MVP and some ideas/features that can be incorporated within the website that real, frequent travelers actually would want to use and things that are not locked behind a paywall.

Current Features:

  1. Instant result showcasing the VISA requirement between the two countries.
  2. Displays related recent news for the countries selected, if there is any.
  3. Allows user to redirect to search results or official related sites/pdfs for detailed VISA information.

Planned future phase 2 features: I want to keep this tool completely community-driven and free of paywalls. Here is what I am planning currently for the next update:

  1. Best Time to Visit: A minimalist, color-coded 12-month timeline bar grid displaying the peak seasons and low seasons for the destination country.
  2. Google Flights: Display current prices of flights as of today, along with the travel.

Would love some advice/suggestions on the same as I want to ensure that I am prioritising the right features that will be useful for travelers. Thanks in advance, for checking it out or sharing your thoughts and feedback. I'll be hanging out in the comments.

Rebook at the resort?

Hi, fellow Sandals and Beaches fans!

We’re heading home from our very first Sandals vacation, and we’re already planning our next one! This time we’d love to bring our kids, so we’re looking at Beaches for May 2028.

Our family will be 6 people:
4 adults
2 kids (ages 14 and 8, with our oldest being 20)

We’re really interested in Beaches Emerald Cay in Exuma, Bahamas, when it opens in late 2027. The travel desk recommended booking Beaches Negril now and then transferring the reservation to Emerald Cay once bookings open.

For 5 nights (with the current 1-night-free promotion), we were quoted about $11,300 for a Tropical Oceanview Concierge 2-Bedroom Suite (BCC category).

For those of you who travel to Beaches often:

Does this seem like a good price?
Do you think it’s worth booking now to lock in pricing and then switching to Emerald Cay later?
Have any of you transferred a reservation from one Beaches resort to another? If so, how did it go?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and any tips for first-time Beaches planners. Thanks!

Travelling to Morocco as a trans woman

I’m half Moroccan and English (born in the uk), my full name is very Moroccan, I’m trans (MtF) and look very much female. My gender marker on my passport hasn’t changed as of yet nor name. Will this be an issue if I travel to Morocco this summer? I’m quite apprehensive going especially with border control and the country following by Islamic law.

How travel agents handle clients in destinations they havent visited

Sometimes I get clients booking trips to places ive never been, like Kyoto or Cape Town, and im left wondering how to find the best tours or activities for them without knowing the local scene. Sure, i can research, but it takes forever.

They ask for things like private tours, cultural experiences, or safari day trips, and i want to make sure the recommendations are top notch, not just generic stuff.

Do you rely on global platforms or marketplaces to find trusted local activities and experiences when youre not familiar with the destination? I need something that pulls in reviews, details, and booking info without spending hours researching each option.

Can I skip the last leg of my itinerary without issues?

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone has firsthand experience with this.

I have a **one-way Korean Air ticket** from **JFK → ICN → KIX (Osaka)** on a single reservation.

Our plans have changed, and instead of continuing to Osaka, we’re thinking of **ending our trip in Seoul (ICN)** and simply not taking the final ICN → KIX flight.

Here are the details:
One-way ticket only (no return on this reservation)
The ICN → KIX flight is the **last segment**
No checked baggage (carry-on only)
I’m a Korean citizen
My husband and daughter are U.S. citizens and are eligible to enter Korea

Our return flight to the U.S. is on **a completely separate Asiana reservation**

I’m **not concerned about getting a refund** for the ICN → KIX segment. I’m just wondering if there are any consequences for simply not boarding the last flight.
Has anyone actually done this with Korean Air?
Specifically:
Were you able to enter Korea without any issues?
Did Korean Air charge any no-show fee afterward?
Did you experience any problems with your SkyPass account or future travel?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone with actual experience. Thanks!

Sister’s 40th birthday trip (?) please help!

I know it’s super late but my sister’s 40th birthday is in August (2 months away). My sister is genuinely amazing and so thoughtful and has always went above and beyond for everyone. Literally every event that has to do with her gets messed with, gets messed up- usually family drama. It’s super frustrating because she deserves the best and i want to make sure she feels special. She had a tough year as it is, and i want to celebrate her.

My sister loves seafood and music and she’s super athletic. She doesn’t like board games and she doesn’t like camping so no overnights in the woods. She has kiddos and I know she’d feel some type of way being away from them for too long, so 3 days max?

We live near NYC and want to take her somewhere without travel time taking up most of the time away.

We thought of Nashville/Maine (for lobster) but we feel like that’s not BIG ENOUGH.

Now the drawback is that with this economy right now, we’re all a bit strapped for cash. But I’m honestly willing to open a new credit card if I have to so she can have a great birthday.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Wizz air cancellation help Pristina - Rome

Hi everyone, I just received a cancellation email from wizz air. The issue I have is that I am getting a connecting flight from another provider to get back to my home country the day after. Will wizz air put me on a flight with a different carrier? Does anyone have any ideas on how to sort this out?

Trip.com refusing to refund AUD $840 they confirmed in writing — anyone dealt with this before?

I booked a flight through Trip.com and had to rebook more than 24 hours before departure. When I completed the rebooking and paid AUD $910, their app clearly showed I would receive AUD $840 back. I have a screenshot of this confirmation. Five minutes later their system automatically cancelled my refund in the background without showing me any warning or notification — something they have since admitted in writing in their own emails.

After weeks of back and forth they keep changing their story. First they said I cancelled the refund myself, then they admitted their system did it but claimed it wasn't an error, then they said a disclaimer was shown to me — which directly contradicts their earlier admission that no warning was displayed. One of their customer service reps even admitted over the phone that it was a mistake on their end. Now they're threatening account restrictions and booking cancellations if I proceed with a chargeback — which I'm pretty sure isn't legal.

I'm based in Perth and I'm planning to lodge a chargeback through Westpac this weekend and file a complaint with the ACCC. Has anyone successfully done a chargeback against Trip.com before? Did it work? And is it worth going to the ACCC given they're threatening me for exercising my consumer rights? Any advice would be appreciated.

Greece and Rome for nerdy travelers

Hello everyone, my partner and I are huge nerds and very excited to travel this summer. We are thinking of a 12 day trip. I will have just taken the bar exam, so I’m really excited to have a fun trip to celebrate with my partner and see awesome historical sites and enjoy beautiful beaches.

Right now I’m thinking Rome, then Crete (maybe a different island?), (perhaps another island too, but it seems like we won’t have the time), and then finishing up in Athens where we’d fly back out to the states.

I’ve been trying to figure this out, but there is so much out there! Is anyone able to give me pointers for any of these cities, or recommend a specific island? (I 100% want to see Pompeii and Herculaneum).

Other notes: We are in our late 20s, love seafood, not big on clubs/late night stuff.

Thank you all!

More flight options to Namibia

Recent announcements by Lufthansa Discovery, Edelweiss and Condor increased the direct flight options to Namibia, which is very convenient for travelers. Namibia is a must visit destination. Many trusted tourism companies can create your ideal visit to Namibia including car rentals. Gondwana Collection Namibia is highly recommended but there are others as well. Namibia will stir your soul. You will not leave this country untouched. 🇳🇦

At London, Heathrow, we missed the connecting flight due to Wheelchair assistance. Are we owed compensation?

On June 9, 2026, my mother and I were traveling through Heathrow on British Airways when we missed our connection due to poor, disorganized wheelchair assistance. We did get overnight accommodations and meals, but I had to change my travel plans for June 10, 2026, on another airline, which cost me $336. Plus the stress of having to deal with this, when if they had a better system, we would have made our flight, no problem. Does this qualify for compensation?

I Can Book My Own Travel—So Why Would I Use a Travel Agent?

I'm sorry if people ask these things a lot, but I didn’t see a recent post and was curious.

I’ve always booked my own travel—flights, hotels, rental cars, rebookings, cancellations, upgrades, etc. I’m pretty comfortable managing everything myself. But the idea of having someone knowledgeable I can call for advice, recommendations, and trip planning sounds appealing, and I understand time is money.

So for someone like me, what is the real value of using a travel agent?

A few things I’m curious about:

How do travel agents get paid? Fees, commissions, or both? Or do I pay?
Do you only book suppliers that pay commissions?
What value do they provide beyond booking hotels and flights?
If something goes wrong, do I have to go through them to make changes, or can I still manage things myself?
Do I still earn all my airline, hotel, and rental car points/status?
Can I still manage upgrades, seat selections, check-in, and changes myself?
Are there certain types of trips where a travel agent is absolutely worth it and others where it isn’t?
Can a travel agent help optimize loyalty programs or point earning?

And who really controls the reservation? For example, I like checking upgrade availability myself and have snagged some cheap first-class upgrades on American before departure. Can I still do things like that if a travel agent books the trip?

For context, I travel a few times a year, mostly book with American Airlines, care about loyalty points/status, and generally enjoy planning my own trips. I’m genuinely curious where a travel agent adds value for travelers like me.

I’d love to hear from both travel agents and travelers who use them.

How long does it take to get a Police Clearance Certificate from a Passport Seva Kendra(India)?

Question only relevant for Indians. I have applied for a PCC on 05/06/2026. I booked an appointment, visited the nearest PSK for interview, submitted documents and got over with my end of liabilities.
I also went to the police station on 19/06/2026 to check on the police verification, and they asked me to submit certain documents, and I did so.
Now, I cannot login into the website and the application status says that the application has been sent to the concerned Police Station. What do I do? How log does it take? How can I expedite my application process?
