Bank of America ACH Changes

Does anybody know what the proposed changes to ACH transfers really are? They are being touted as "improvements" but it looks like I won't be able to do as much.

As usual with BoA there's a lot of Rah Rah language but every time I see that I end up being disappointed.

The mail is below. My favorite part is: "We're here for you.... Call the number on the back of the card". Good luck landing on anybody who knows the right area.

We're enhancing the way you send wire and ACH transfers outside of Bank of America — here's what to expect
Beginning in July, we're upgrading our wire and ACH transfer experience in Mobile¹ and Online Banking to bring you new and easy‑to‑use features for external transfers. What you need to know Here are some of the enhancements we're making We're here to help If you have any questions, please call the number on the back of your card. When we transition your experience, some capabilities won't be immediately available. You won't be able to set up any recurring wire or ACH transfers. In addition, while you can set up one-time wire and ACH transfers, you won't be able to schedule them for a future date. We'll notify you when these features are available. Use our Mobile app — Send ACH transfers to accounts at other banks, whether it's to your own account or someone else's. If you schedule a recurring or future dated wire or ACH transfer before we notify you that our upgraded experience is complete, we may have to delay your transition. We'll move any recipients you've added or sent money to within the past 24 months to the new experience. If we're unable to move a recipient because information is missing or incorrect, you can add them by: Improved wire/ACH status tracking — track the status of your transfer after it's submitted. ACH and Wire history — 18 months of ACH and wire history will be visible in the Activity section of Pay & Transfer.Logging in and selecting Pay & Transfer Selecting Wire/ACH Selecting Add recipient and filling out the required information
Thank you for being our client.

HyVee Pharmacy Automation makes unsolicited calls and asks for personal information.

I keep getting automated calls from the HyVee Pharmacy asking for me and then asking me to verify who I am by entering some personal information. Every anti-crime organization tells you not to respond by answering the query but the lazy programmers at HyVee haven't got the news.

I have no idea why they think they need to do this. I suspect they are pushing for a prescription renewal. They have no problem leaving a voicemail that prescriptions are filled. But they seem to doubt that calling my number necessarily means they are talking to me. While that's actually a good thing that 99% of the financial institutions that send you text authentication codes don't seem to understand, it's probably pretty useless to keep a family member from prying into what medications I'm taking. The confirmation they ask for isn't particularly private among a family.

What they should do is leave a message that says to check online to see what prescription needs to be renewed.

HyVee's prescription search is a different disaster so finding the prescription that's being called about is not a guarantee.

I've submitted the issue with calling and then asking for information before. Even though this is clearly a programming issue, they forwarded it around to stores and pharmacies who are at the mercy of the programmers who don't think through their use cases.
