Everything about this coffee tells me it should be a good daily driver but I’ve struggled with it a bit. Not got much of the bag left so just wanted to see if anyone had a recipe recommendation?
Currently trying to dial in water for the first time so this might have something to do with it.
Any advice appreciated though.
Aeropress, v60 or cafetière
So I am new to coffee water.
It’s been a huge learning curve.
I started using TWW at half measure as some people recommend & found it difficult to get good results.
So I made a concentrate & started experimenting. I went from 60ppm through to 130ppm. I found 120ppm seemed to be where I was getting best results.
Today I brewed the newest Lance Hedrick v60 recipe (my most reliable v60 for any coffee) using the TTW water. It was possibly the best coffee I’ve made from that bag.
As part of my water experiment this afternoon I made the Barista Hustle water recipe. This showed at around 50ppm.
Same grind, brew method, draw down time. Nowhere near as much flavour, juiciness, body.
Does this confirm my water preference? Should I experiment more with the barista hustle stuff? I have 2 litres of it so I’ll see what results I can get.
Honestly can’t believe not only how much water makes a difference to the brew but also how the tiniest tweaks make such a difference when you have good water.
