Hello! I currently have an empty 50 gallon tank I would love to put an axolotl in. I have a bit of experience with tanks, as I have a betta. But i know axolotls are completely different.

What should I expect? What do I need? How should I setup this tank? What should they be eating?

I want to educate myself as much as possible before getting one - and even before setting up the tank itself - I appreciate all the advice!!

Unrelated question: he’s still new - so am I to owning tanks & fish - should i be concerned about that little spot where the shell looks thin? It was there when I bought him.

Hello! I’ve had my beta for about a month now my tank is fully cycled. I have all real plants and a piece of driftwood. Lots of frogbit and I do a weekly water change and I use flourish for the plants. I also test my waters very often.

I noticed recently that he had a hole in his fin which turned into a big split, and then from there, I noticed more tears in the rest of his fins. He swims around just fine. He will swim around the entire tank and rest on some frogbit.

This is my first betta I’ve done a lot of research, but I’m still learning help is appreciated thank you!

Temp sits around 78-80
Parameters are all good, Ammonia, Nitrate & Nitrite at 0ppm. I used a liquid testing kit.
I’ve had the tank & fish for a month now.
Once a week water changes, about 20-30%. I clean the gravel and empty some water, then refill with conditioned water.
No tankmates
I feed him either 2 vibra bites or 2 betta bio-gold pellets.

Not sure what type of snail this is… there isnt a concerning amount, just a few here and there. How can I remove them? Should I?

Hello! I’m new to the community, and owning a fish in general. I set up this tank over a week ago and I’m doing a fish in cycle. I’ve done plenty of research but I’m hoping to get the fish police on my case incase I’m doing anything wrong or need some changes in my tank.

- I test the waters everyday, and preform a 20-30% water change when needed.
- I feed Rinzler 2 pellets in the morning, and 2 before bed. Usually around a 9-12 hr gap between feedings.
- DONT WORRY! I’ve tested the shipwreck for sharp edges with a cotton ball. Rinzler does enjoy going into the ship and resting. I’ve seen no signs of fin rot or tears. I have seen new growth though!
- My boyfriend is going to 3D print me a betta hammock aswell

I found this coat in mint condition, seller told me its 1920s. There’s no tags, I’m curious if anyone knows the brand or even the value on it? It’s in near perfect condition
