One week in Sicily
Hi
My girlfriend made a plan for our week in Sicily.
I’d like to hear locals’ thoughts
Day 1 - late arrival
street food at Vucciria and chill at the hotel (Palermo)
Day 2
Riserva dello Zingaro (EARLY MORNING - 2H DRIVE), we spend there as much time as we want, chill at the beaches and hike, see beautiful nature and soak up the sun
Marsala (skipping the city unless time allows us not to) - Saline della Laguna, the place with salt, perfect to see during sunset.
Day 3
morning with yummy fruit and veggies at Ballaro market
just walking around the whole Palermo as we want until like 3-4pm and then hitting the beach in Mondello
Day 4 -big drive to the other side of the island
driving from early morning to Catania
making a stop at Cefalu!!! Just walking around, chill at the beach for some time and eat dinner there
in the evening we’d arrive at Catania and just take a small walk around the city if we’re not dead
Day 5
ETNA!!! Since the very early morning boyyyy
in the evening we’ll just go around the city and enjoy
Day 6
morning drive to Taormina (less than an 1h drive)
we go around the whole city, visit the greek theatre, walk around Villa Communale
after dinner we hit the absolutely stunning Isola Bella beach and later we go back to Catania
Day 7 (home sweet home ☹️)
free day to go around Catania, visit the fish market La Pescheria
then probably at around 7-8 we need to go to the airport ;(
If we have time
catacombs in Palermo (dark af)
Monreale
wine museum in Marsala
Personally I noticed she didn’t include Syracuse even though everybody’s telling me to go there. Is it worth it?
