anyone know this artist?

Found this street art in Palermo and was wondering if anyone knew the artist? One of the most gorgeous pieces I’ve ever seen and I’ve searched everywhere for a source but cant find one. Looks a little like Yoshitomo Nara?

Palermo stays

Hi everyone!

My two friends and I will be visiting Palermo during the last week of July. We’re planning to rent a car and spend most of our time exploring different beaches around the area.
We’re currently looking for accommodation, but we’re finding that many hotels and Airbnbs are either quite expensive or don’t seem that nice for the price.

Does anyone have any recommendations for hotels, Airbnbs, or specific areas to stay in that offer good value? We’d be happy to stay outside the city center if it’s convenient for driving and beach trips.

Walking from Central station to Tribunale di palermo after midnight train/bus

Hi everyone,

My girlfriend and I will be visiting Palermo for the first time in August and we’re staying near Tribunale di Palermo.

Our flight lands around 10:30 PM, so after taking the airport bus or train into the city, we’ll probably be walking from the central station to our hotel around midnight with just backpacks. Would you consider that walk generally safe, or would you recommend taking a taxi instead?

Also, are there any areas in Palermo that visitors should avoid?

Sorry if I sound overly cautious. We had a bad experience near Brussels Noord station on a previous trip, so since then I’ve been a bit more careful about safety when visiting new cities.

Thanks in advance

Secure parking in Kalsa (paid is okay)

Hi r/palermo_city !

I'll be visiting Palermo from July 11-16, staying in Kalsa near Villa Giulia. Our Airbnb host recommended parking in Piazza della Kalsa, but I imagine it'll be packed mid-summer, especially around the Festino di Santa Rosalia.

We're willing to pay for parking if there is a garage nearby that's secure and hassle-free. We're going to avoid driving in the city, but want to have a car so that day trips and beach outings are manageable.

Open to any suggestions, appreciate the time and input!

Buon pomeriggio a tutti! Secondo voi dove posso mangiare il miglior Pollo alla brace a Palermo? Possibilmente no locali per turisti.

Cool, vibe-y bars in Kalsa area?

My friend and I are looking for a cool Instagram-worthy bar/lounge in or around the Kalsa neighborhood. We went to Botteghe Colletti last night and loved it, so we’re searching for something like that. Halp!

A week in Palermo

Hi

My girlfriend made a plan for our week in Sicily.

I’d like to hear locals’ thoughts

Day 1 - late arrival

street food at Vucciria and chill at the hotel (Palermo)

Day 2
Riserva dello Zingaro (EARLY MORNING - 2H DRIVE), we spend there as much time as we want, chill at the beaches and hike, see beautiful nature and soak up the sun
Marsala (skipping the city unless time allows us not to) - Saline della Laguna, the place with salt, perfect to see during sunset.

Day 3
morning with yummy fruit and veggies at Ballaro market
just walking around the whole Palermo as we want until like 3-4pm and then hitting the beach in Mondello

Day 4 -big drive to the other side of the island
driving from early morning to Catania
making a stop at Cefalu!!! Just walking around, chill at the beach for some time and eat dinner there
in the evening we’d arrive at Catania and just take a small walk around the city if we’re not dead

Day 5
ETNA!!! Since the very early morning boyyyy
in the evening we’ll just go around the city and enjoy

Day 6
morning drive to Taormina (less than an 1h drive)
we go around the whole city, visit the greek theatre, walk around Villa Communale
after dinner we hit the absolutely stunning Isola Bella beach and later we go back to Catania

Day 7 (home sweet home)
free day to go around Catania, visit the fish market La Pescheria
then probably at around 7-8 we need to go to the airport ;(

If we have time
catacombs in Palermo (dark af)
Monreale
wine museum in Marsala

Personally I noticed she didn’t include Syracuse even though everybody’s telling me to go there. Is it worth it?

Living in Palermo

Hi! We just visited Palermo for eight days and fell in love with it immediately. We loved everything: the architecture, the friendly people, the narrow streets with crazy drivers, our bus rides to Mondello Beach, the nightlife almost everything.

At the same time,we noticed that people seem to work very hard and that not everyone has a comfortable life.
I’m curious to hear from locals. What do you think about life in Palermo?Do you enjoy living there,or are you trying to move away?

Is it safe to walk to palermo port at night?

My wife and I are going from Palermo to Naples by ferry, but our ferry departs at midnight. Our hotel check-out time is at 12 PM. We are thinking of exploring the city and then going to the port. Would it be safe to walk from the city center to the port at night?

Visiting Palermo in 4 days

In four days I am visiting Palermo for a training. I will stay for 5 nights. Fist of all I would like to ask if in generally is a safe city to walk at night or at day. Secondly I would like you to recommend me food sport and preferably some spots that serve strange/local/bizarre foods that I could try and also recommend me some cheap and value for money food spots. Thank you from Cyprus

Niente, considerazioni.
