I have cognitive issues, and I am trying to get back into reading!

I am looking for a TTS app for iPhone that is similar to Speechify.

I gave Speechify a brief try, I liked it, however, I want to see what else is out there.

Here are the features that I am looking for in a TTS app:

🟣 The ability to copy/paste raw text

🟣 The ability to import PDFs

🟣 The ability to import ebooks

🟣 The ability to import audio books

🟣 The ability to import ebooks from the library

🟣 The ability to import audio books from the library

🟣 The app highlights the text and can read it to you, while you follow along

🟣 The app can slow the voices and highlights down, if needed

🟣 The app is user friendly (ex: easy to find buttons; easy to import things; no side loading using adobe, or, if side loading is there, it’s very easy to do with an iPhone)

Are there any TTS apps that fit what I am looking for?

If not, that’s okay, I’ll understand. I’ll also understand if Speechify is “the best choice” of a TTS app, for me.

I have commented on here, yet have never made a post.

In short, I am an adult who has problems forming words, and thoughts for the words.

It is not physical, yet it is cognitive. This is a symptom of one of my disabilities, and it’s gotten worse.

I have an appointment in a few months with a speech therapist, to see about getting an AAC device like a tablet.

As of this post, I mostly use WeaveChat on my iPhone. I like that I can use adult words and themes in it!

However, I find WeaveChat inaccessible in two ways.

First, the voice is not loud enough on my phone, even when my volume is all the way up.

Secondly, if I’m having the symptoms of, “I cannot speak, and my brain is blank, no words are in my brain, and only pictures are in my brain for what I need to communicate,” then I find WeaveChat very difficult and almost impossible to use.

Because of that, I’m looking to compare and contrast WeaveChat to other AAC apps and devices, especially before I have my appointment in a few months.

I would like to come in prepared for that appointment.

I have heard good things about TD and TD snap, and also, I don’t know how much it can help with the symptom i described above.

I also do not know if TD or TD snap will let me use adult words, like WeaveChat does.

Could someone please compare and contrast the features on WeaveChat to TD or TD snap?

In addition to that, if folks have other suggestions for AAC for my symptoms, and for it being able to communicate adult concepts, could you all please send them my way?

My one strict barrier right now to AAC, is that I can’t use sign language as a form of AAC. Other than that, I am open to various options!

I’ve really been enjoying Sonic Racing CrossWorlds because I can play as almost any character from the Sonic franchise using various vehicles, which adds plenty of variety to the gameplay. However, I see a lot of people using mods and I admit they look really cool, especially the ones that make the game environment resemble Sonic Riders. So, for those who use mods in Sonic Racing CrossWorlds: how do I install them for the Steam version of the game? Also, which mods do you recommend that are safe to use? Furthermore, I’d like to know what precautions should i take and what restrictions would I face if I used the mods, would I be unable to unlock in-game achievements? Would I get banned during online matches? I’d really appreciate the answers.

This is my first post here!

For context, I like to play video games, with my favorite genres being cozy, racing, and platformer.

So, I have been interested in train video games for awhile now. I have a genuine interest in trains, as well.

I did try playing “Train Simulator Classic.” It was on my Steam Deck, docked to the TV, with an XBOX controller. I had a very difficult time understanding what needed to be done, and I had a hard time navigating with the controller. I could not make it past the tutorial, admittedly!

I would like to give “Wonders Of Sodor” a try, because it does look very pleasing! With that being said, I have two questions:

One, how entry-level/easy is the game to get into? If it’s easy for me to pick up, play, and understand as a “very first-time train game,” then I’d be more open to trying it.

Two, how good are the controls and navigation with the XBOX controller? I know that it is compatible, and also, I feel like that doesn’t give me a clear answer as to how well it plays 😅 my set up for playing “Train Simulator Classic” will be the same if I were to play “Wonders Of Sodor,” at least, for the moment.

I was looking through the personal flairs section of this subreddit, which lists your main.

I noticed that there are quite a few playable characters that are missing. I noticed that it stops at around SpongeBob and Patrick.

With the current system, would it be possible to update the flairs with the added playable characters, please?

I have other ideas that are about the flair system, as well!

I recognized that I do not always play as the same character! I like to swap them out, for a varied play experience.

With that said, here are some ideas that I have for additional flairs, on top of, a person’s main:

- Online Ranking: what the person’s online ranking is for World Match

- Character Type Preference: what character type that the person prefers playing as

- Vehicle Type Preference: what vehicle type that the person prefers playing as

What do you all think of these flair ideas? If folks don’t find them agreeable, that’s alright, i understand!

I wanted to report a visual bug/glitch, particularly before the Puyo Puyo festival starts.

Device:
Steam Deck

Game Version:
1.3.2

Game Mode:
“Quick Match” in the race park

Character:
Creeper (Minecraft)

Vehicle:
Twinkle Bayeon (Puyo Puyo DLC) (base vehicle; no modifications)

Gadget build:
Drift Charge Kit, Lv2 Quick Charge, Starting Boost Bounty, Ring Gain Mini Boost

What is the glitch?:
when Creeper is in Twinkle Bayeon, and while facing away from you, Creeper’s head will flicker. The flicker will show Creeper’s head, and then the background, repeatedly.

When does this glitch happen?:
I noticed that it happens more often when you hit the dash panels, when you turn and boost, and when you’re in the water. In my experience, Bikini Bottom has the glitch the worst.

Prior to the DLC, I experienced no visual glitches with Creeper.

I could see that this glitch could negatively impact those who have photosensitivity. Because of that, I wanted to report it.
