Bad hostel etiquette or am I being dramatic?

2 situations that happened the past 24 hours in my hostel.

I’m in a female dorm, 4 women total.

First situation- last night I arrived back to the hostel around 11pm.
I unlock the front door, see a women from my dorm talking to her friend.
She sees me, stands up, and by the time I walked towards the common area she turned to go to our room.
I see her collecting her shower things and ask - are you using the bathroom now?” She responds “yes”, and I say “okay, I’ll wait for you then”.
Personally, I would have asked if my hostel mate wanted to use the shower first , but it was the rushing over to use the shower soon as she saw me coming that irked me.

Second situation- my alarm goes off this morning. Another girl in the dorm heads to the bathroom. No worries, I can be patient. Finally, she is in there for 20 minutes. No communicating, no asking if I want to go first cause she will take longer, etc… at minute 17 I knocked on the door and she came out at 20 mins after entering.
Again I personally wouldn’t take 20 mins in peak morning hours, or I would communicate with my roommate- like if she needs to take a shower and I only need to brush my teeth, etc.

Both these situations really bothered me because in their shoes I would have been a bit more considerate and communicative.

What do you think- am I exaggerating or is it a bit rude?

EDIT- Thanks for the perspectives. I have been backpacking on and off for 10 years, mainly in hostels, just never had these situations happen both within one day. Also there was only 1 bathroom available to use.

I’m a 30yo solo backpacker, female who has a few days left before a return flight out of Cancun.

Which location would you pick?

I love nature and connecting with local places when I travel. I do also speak Spanish.

Isla mujeres looks so beautiful but Holbox seems way less touristy.

Me puede explicar por qué han hecho este graffiti? Pasó algo con las mujeres aquí en Mérida, o en México en general? Estoy haciendo un viaje aquí y me sorprendí, fue muy duro verlo y quiero saber más.
