Is there a way to peacefully absorb rebels?

I'm playing an unmodded version of Bannerlord

A city owned by my rival rebelled against him, so now he has to reconquer it, but i'm still neutral with the clan. can I convince the rebel faction to join under my banner?

these sneak missions in bannerlord are annoying

stealth missions that railroad you into going down a specific path are annoying. i'm trying to sneak into a bandit hideout and twice i ran into invisible walls. let me infiltrate a place the way i want unless there's a narrative reason it should have one path.

If Japan had joined operation Barbarossa, would the soviet union be able to avoid capitulation/collapse?

In OTL, Japan chose to invade the Philippines and the Indies for resources to assist its invasion of China. in this timeline, germany strikes a deal where it will supply japanese resource needs after the soviets are dealt with. Japan agrees to this, and launches its own invasion of Siberia right as Germany is invading the baltics and eastern poland.

This has two main immediate effects that I can see: 1) the soviets cannot pull troops from their border with the japanese empire to reinforce the line in belorussia or ukraine after the grand encirclements there. 2) the soviets can no longer use their eastern ports for lend-lease supplies from the US. are these enough for germany to push to the Archangelsk/Astrakhan line?

For completeness's sake, the US will join the war eventually, but probably later than OTL since there is no attack on pearl harbor as a catalyst for public support.

I'm playing as china and this annoyed me a bit

I'm failing over and over again to defeat japan as china so i find a strategy guide. It suggests that I send an operative to put diplo pressure on japan so that i can snag a non-aggression pact before the marco polo bridge incident, which i do. Then, the marco polo bridge incident fires anyway, and i go to war with japan a mere month after signing a NAP.

now, this is obviously annoying, but debate its realism later. My question is: what's the point of the "apply diplomatic pressure" operations if you can just be railroaded by the historical focuses? why can't i just play an alt-history game?

I found an abandoned/decrepit castle on the outskirts of the playable area but couldn't find anything online about it. does anyone know more?
