Marantz 2238b and Klipsch Chorus II
Hi, I would appreciate your opinion and view on whether or not I should get a Marantz 2238b I have serviced and use it instead of a Yamaha RX-V863. I have a set of Klipsch Chorous II’s I have owned since new in 1993 and love their sound and I bought the Rx863 in 2006 or something like that. I run a iPod most of the time through the Yamaha, will use a Cd player once in awhile and also the television signal through it. The Marantz 2238b is in my garage hooked up to a set of small polk speakers (I know, a sin its in the garage….). The marantz was purchased by my father in the 70’s I believe and there is a channel cutout happening sometimes and of course some blue lights on the dial are going/shot. Would it be worth it to spend the money and get the marantz overhauled and switch it out for the Yamaha, relegating the Yamaha to the garage? Really appreciate your thoughts and input.
