The photograph is beautiful. But have you ever looked at the negative?

Honestly shocked at the amount of praise this post is getting... like what...

To R2 or not to R2

I'm starting to think the R2 might not work out...

I've been on the waitlist since basically the beginning and finally got the email that I can order sometime in November to December. I was pumped at first but I'm starting to think it's not gonna work out.

The main issues are timing and service center proximity. I need a car pretty soon, and waiting that long is pushing it. Plus the closest service center is three hours away. Which is doable but it's still a hassle.

I genuinely love Rivian, I love about what the company stands for, the design is sick, and I'm convinced electric is the future. That's literally the only reason I've been waiting this long. But being in Louisiana, the EV infrastructure is still lacking. And if something goes wrong and I gotta drive three hours to get it fixed? That's rough. I'm leaning towards just getting a Bronco as I need a car with off road capabilities.

Part of me feels like I'm giving up, but another part thinks I'm just being realistic. Anyone else dealt with being far from a service center? Does it actually suck as much as I'm imagining or am I just overthinking this? Also, any Rivian owners in Louisiana that can chime in on their experience?
