Lost & Found - valuable item
I am in a bit of a situation. I moved from Pennsylvania to Texas about a month ago. I drove my car across the country which has a Pennsylvania license plate/registration. Well last week my boyfriend was driving it and was rear-ended. The car has now been deemed a total loss.
My boyfriend was nice enough to go back to where it was being held and remove my belongings for me and bring them back, WHICH included my Pennsylvania license plate.
HOWEVER, he had a rental vehicle with Hertz and left my license plate in the rental when return.
I'm trying not to freak out - but i don't know what to do. The registration on the plate runs out the end of October and I'm worried that someone will take it and try to use it. I tried to call Hertz but they can't tell me anything other than a lost and found report needs to be filed which I did twice, actually.
Does anyone have any advise or maybe a contact person with Hertz? Any advice is helpful.
