i had to move into a new home due to unfortunate circumstances with my 1 cat. he hasn’t been around other cats in quite a while. we moved into a home with 5 cats!!!!!!!

it’s been about 2 weeks, i have barriers up, i try to give lots of treats and pets and assurance…. but my cat is … not adjusting well.

he shows aggression even with a barrier, he’s the first to attack and yes. fur flying when we don’t have a barrier. he will hiss and growl at me when i pick him up to separate them, and at night he is INSISTENT on trying to claw open my door and get out. he meows to try and get out there, i think maybe he wants to play or explore but he’s just so aggressive.

do i start looking at the vet? do i take more time and build more positive interactions with the barrier? what is the strategy here?

i’ve always seen fakeclaimers fakeclaim long lists of mental health problems like DID, OCD, BPD, PTSD, ETC, and i always thought that was SO DUMB. because have you ever been to a psychiatrist????? i swear some of them diagnose you with shit just for the hell of it.

i went to a new doctor who had access to my psychiatrist records, he told me i had a recorded history of CPTSD, major depression, dissociation, and then said “and a couple of personality disorders as well” a couple ????? what ???! first time i heard ANY of this, my psychiatrists were very reluctant to TELL ME diagnosis, but didn’t seem to hold back diagnosing me with several personality disorders
