Less Power After Battery Change Out

Anyone know of any reason why I'm not feeling the same torque and acceleration after I had a new battery installed?

The service department was gone otherwise I would have gone back to have them take a look. Is there some kind of adjusting or recalibration the power train goes through? Or could there be bad connection from the battery to a motor?

Does GM not sell a tri fold tonneau cover?

When I was shopping for my SEV, I know I saw some that had a hard bed cover. I unfortunately went with an RST with a POS soft cover. Well now I'm thinking I'll get the dealership to throw a hard cover on it while it's getting worked on but they're saying that they only have soft covers.

Update:

Well, I called again and they've now confirmed that they don't show them available through GM. I was going to email them a damn screenshot of the page BoneDocktr posted below, but sheezus that's overpriced. I'll just do it myself and order a Bakflip mx4 from a truck accessory vendor.

Is the New Recording Controls connected to the Android 14 Update?

Are these separate updates or they're connected? My truck is at the dealer now getting a new battery and I better jump on this.

Video Recording Length Question

If you set your Video Recording Length to Auto then it says it "Lets recordings continue until motion stops, up to 20 seconds".

Does that mean that it will start recording again if the 20 seconds runs out and motion is detected again?

Is it just me or does the Tesla App need a lot of work?

I'm pretty sure most of us use the Tesla App for charging our Silverado EV's. I don't know if it's not efficient or if it's very demanding but if I don't have a strong 5G signal or WiFi then it won't load. I was Helen, GA at decent 12 stall Supercharger but the app had the "Add Product" on top left and drop down menu on top right and quit there. There was no "Charge Your EV/ Find a Charger" when you scroll down. In the middle of nowhere as far as charging options, spending 30 minutes restarting phone, clearing cache, trying anything. Eventually I ran down the hill to a restaurant, got on their WiFi and it connected and clicked on my stall number and ran back to my truck and plugged it in. I had this happen in urban good coverage areas, even near my house in Asheville, NC. A very busy Supercharger location that you would think it'd be easy to connect. I had signal and was able to easily research for fixes at these locations, but the Tesla app wouldn't load.

Then there's the single payment method issue. Under Choose Payment Method it says you can add another card, but when you do it, it just replaces the current card even though it clearly says "Add" a card. Well now I have some charges that my work covers and some are mine, and I'm constantly having to Add A Card when I go to a Supercharger.

I scratch my head at this because you'd think Tesla would have their stuff together. Although it may just be that it's non Tesla people using the app to charge and tesla could care less. At least I think Tesla owners just pull up and plug in and don't mess with the app.

Battery Replacement In The Works

Was in the middle of BFE and got the feared Service High Voltage System warning at start up on my 2024 RST. Also had the truck light with exclamation point in it (essentially check engine light). And, off an on I had the light on the right of the display that looked like a battery stack. I called the dealership I typically go to and they only have an EV tech come in once a week (or so they said). It was currently Thursday, and the next opening was Wednesday the following week. I told them it could be serious and they said that's the only day the tech will be there. I booked it. Then I called the EV Concierge service and their only advice was to get it looked at asap.

The next day the warning lights were gone in the morning, but they came back again that afternoon. I got my hopes up that it was a glitch. I also had a weird studdering thing that happened with the regen. When I took my foot of the gas, it seemed to studder instead of constant resistance. I figured it was electrical system related so I turned off the one pedal driving.

I had two charging sessions over the next 5 days waiting for my dealership appt. One was a tesla supercharger and the other was a georgia power level 2 charger near my hotel. Both went normal. Not sure its relevant, but after the level 2 charging session to about 60% the warning lights went off for a few hours and I didn't get the service hv system warning at start up. The next time I stopped though, it all came back on. Over the next 5 days the truck seemed normal but I got the warnings at start up.

I made it to Asheville Chevrolet on Wednesday with the truck running fine and the fun began. They pulled codes and got Code P0AA6 HV isolation fault. The first dealer issue was that they told me that even though the tech was only a Wednesday guy that they won't look at it for a few days. Then they broke the news that there were no loaners available. I made the argument that it was dealership and they needed to pull one off the lot. They said they were too small to have loaners. Uhhh, what. Then I stepped away to call the ev concierge and they said they'll provide $44/day reimbursement for a rental but I made a couple calls to enterprise and thrifty and it was $85/day for small sedan. I went back to debating with the service dept about them diagnosing the issue sooner and the loaner, and the service manager asked what the problem was and I explained. He then proceeded to tell me that the ev tech was backed up and wouldn't look at it for at least a week. I also found out that the ev tech was also the transmission guy and he was there full time. I dawned on me that there was another Chevy dealership South of town so I gave them a call. Fair warning to people in Western NC that have Chevy EV's.

When I called Sunshine Chevrolet it was the opposite treatment. The service guy told me that they didn't have an opening until Monday but if I bring it now they would try to check it sooner. I asked about a loaner and he said they would of course provide a loaner and was shocked that Asheville Chevrolet wouldn't. I hopped in the truck and drove to the other dealership and they were super accommodating. Nathan walked the truck down to see what else they could look into while they had it and then went and got me a SEV LT off the lot for a loaner. Thank the frickin lord I didn't give up at Asheville Chevrolet and leave my truck there and rent a Toyota Corrola.

Two days later they did get to it early and explained that the battery would need replacing. That was last Friday and I'm waiting now to hear back on delivery info. The LT loaner has a standard range battery which sucks compared to my RST. I also miss the hell out of my supercruise. But all in all, I'm driving a decent loaner and the dealership seems to be on top of it.

Anyone that's been through this have any lesson learned or advice with this issue that I need to get ahead of?

High voltage..... Isolation code

So the dealership is telling me that the high voltage warning is tied to an isolation issue.

Did some research sitting here in the bay at the dealership (working out rental vs loaner) and got the code:

Code P0AA6 on a Chevy Silverado EV indicates a High-Voltage Battery Isolation Fault. This means the truck’s high-voltage system has lost its electrical isolation (insulation) from the vehicle’s metal chassis, creating a potential safety hazard that will usually cause the truck to disable charging or refuse to go into "Drive" https://www.carparts.com/blog/p0aa6-code-hybrid-battery-voltage-system-isolation-fault/?srsltid=AfmBOor4w5K_JCEvy-cNL05l1ytSj9xOgAary4kY-vD8R-Forh05eAg3

Anyone fight this issue?

Just got a 'Service High Voltage System soon' notice.

Just got a 'Service High Voltage System soon' alert and it was followed by this text "Diagnostic Alert: Service the lithium-ion battery in your 2024 Silverado EV immediately. Text STOP to cancel." Unfortunately I'm in the middle of nowhere with work. Has anyone had this come up recently and it went away? Or should I start making my way back to civilization and a dealership?

Just a thought, Is it unhealthy if you're getting a 'service high voltage system' warning to use a DC fast charger?
