Could someone tell me if this sounds like APD?

My son will be 3 in two months. He has been in OT for sensory and speech for delayed speech for 6 months. He has been in play therapy for a month now (the purpose of this is to gain independence and socialize, similar to preschool. It is 1 day a week).

Speech is progressing wonderfully, he is still behind but barely. Sensory issues are not getting better. He is terrified of loud sounds. Vacuum, noisy restaurants, blender, ice machine in fridge, and his peers. Poor buddy goes into an intense, full body (stiffening, pupils dilating, shaking, eyes widening). This response is greatest when kids make noise (babies crying, kids squealing with excitement). He is happiest with adults or alone (with me or dad or family). I try to expose him to loud noises in a controlled environment where he has some control (ie asking him to turn the vacuum on), we go to story time, gym class, play therapy, the park, the grocery, etc. Nothing seems to help.

Because he doesn’t have issues with everyday noise (he’s fine playing in our quiet home or walking through the park, etc) therapists don’t think headphones would be helpful.

I am at a loss. It absolutely crushes my husband and I to see him respond this way. In environments that should be happy and playful and fun, he can’t handle it. I want so badly for him to have fun and get to enjoy these things.

To add: His OT, SLP, and Pediatrician all have said, and continue to say, he is not on the spectrum. He has a couple other sensory issues, he’s fearful of water, doesn’t like his socks off, etc. But by far noise is his biggest challenge.

If this does sound like APD, do you have advice? I want to help him as best I can as early as I can. Thank you

I have a ‘sensory kid’ and I am desperately seeking advice and solidarity

If there is a better subreddit for this post, please point me in the right direction.

He will be 3 in two months.

He hates water (hates baths, hates spray ground, hates pools. He is terrified). His biggest issues are noise & socialization. He is terrified of his peers. He is fine observing them from afar but does not like being nearby, spoken to, or touched. What typically sends him into a spiral though, is the noise. Poor buddy goes into an intense, full body (stiffening, pupils dilating, shaking, eyes widening, screaming, head butting), response when kids make noise (babies crying, kids squealing with excitement). He is happiest with adults or alone (with me or dad or family). I try to expose him to loud noises in a controlled environment where he has some control (ie asking him to turn the vacuum on), we go to story time, gym class, play therapy, the park, the grocery, etc. Nothing seems to help.

Because he doesn’t have issues with day-to-day noises (he’s fine playing in the house, grocery shopping, etc) therapists don’t think headphones would be helpful (not to mention he is very sensitive about his head - touching his hair, won’t wear hats, hates hair cuts, etc. I don’t think he would wear them).

I am at a loss. It absolutely crushes my husband and I to see him respond to his peers/social setting this way. In environments that should be happy and playful and fun, he can’t handle it. I want so badly for him to have fun and get to enjoy these things.

Really needing some advice or encouragement if you’re in this situation. I am desperate to hear something positive.

His OT, SLP, and Pediatrician all have said, and continue to say, he is not on the spectrum. I just can’t help but notice how different he is from his peers. And don’t get me wrong, I think he is absolutely perfect and love him with everything in me, I am just so desperate to help him

Best park for birthday party?

Toddler birthday but a park suitable for young kids as well. It’ll be in early fall so splash pads don’t matter. Ideally, the pavilion would be close to the playground.

Intimidated but really wanting a bra that fits! 32, breast implants, post-child

Loose Underbust: 36.5
Snug Underbust: 36
Tight Underbust: 34
Standing Bust: 43
Leaning Bust: 44.5
Lying Bust: 42.5

Suggested Starting Size: 36H/I US
Suggested Starting Size: 36FF/G UK
(holy cannoli these shocked me!)

I am 32, female (female at birth), I have had 2 sets of breast implants, the current set is a high profile, silicone, 575cc in one breast and 525cc in another. I had a child almost 3 years ago. I had my first set of implants before my baby and another set after. My breasts have definitely changed after having my son and after losing 60lbs postpartum. They are larger and seem more “natural” looking than before. This is where my feeling intimidated comes in, I don’t know these boobs and I’ve been wearing sports bras for 3 years now.

Currently (when I do wear a bra) I wear a 38 C, no underwire, slightly padded bra from Amazon. My issue leading me to this post is the huge gap I get between my chest and bra. When I wear tops, my shirt falls inbetween my chest and bra cup and it’s embarrassing and looks horrible. If I scoop my breasts up and “fill” the cup back up, they look great, briefly lol.

- I would love to be conservative on cost if there are more affordable brands you would recommend ($50 or less)

- I would love to try some on in person if there are stores you recommend

- I am struggling to determine fullness. Idk if I’m shallow of projected. I’m guessing projected simply because I have large implants. However, I do think I have a wide base/root. I do not have much cleavage (with or without a bra).

Visiting June 11-20, 2026

Cities include: Anchorage, Seward, Soldotn, Palmer, Talkeetna, Cantwell/Denali NP

Activities include: exploring towns, Kenai Fjord boat tour, (river) fishing in Soldotna, Matanuska Glacier tour (hike), potential hiking in Palmer and in Denali NP.

We have water resistant hiking boots and rain jackets.

Should I purchase rain pants/hiking pants? (I typically hike in athletic style yoga pants)

I plan on layering, but is it usually cold enough to need thermals underneath clothing? Do I need a winter coat in addition to the rain jacket?

Google is telling me temps range from 40s-mid 60s?

Any and all advice is appreciated :)
